Fountain Hills Home

Fountain Hills is a beautiful community! It is just large enough to have everything you would need, and small enough to feel like you are truly on vacation. The villa home is very conveniently located, close to shopping and restaurants, and the park with the world's tallest fountain. Although you can't see the fountain from the home, it is an easy drive. The walking path around the lake is 1.25 miles, and easy. Try to get there on the hour so you can see the fountain for a good 15 minutes during your walk. The home is very spacious, and comfortable. The ceilings are 12' or higher. The floorplan is very open, and nicely decorated. The 2 bedroom suites are huge, especially the master, and there is another nice sized bedroom with twin beds, and a nice sized half bath off the living room. There are tv's in all the bedrooms, as well as in the family room. The kitchen is very large, as well as the family room, and the cook can converse and watch TV from the kitchen island. We enjoyed the lap pool, which is heated to 85 degrees, and is very clean and refreshing. The 11th tee of the golf course is only a stone's throw from the pool area, but you are separated by a short wall and iron fence, and shrubbery on the other side. It is a beautiful public golf course (Sunridge Canyon), very challenging, and it has the best practice range for $20 all day if you wish. The kitchen was great for cooking in, but we also found good restautants. Italian- Terra Nostra, Mexican - Mama's Cantina, Pizza - Rosatti's, Asian - Pei Wei (take out), Phil's Place- great casual comfort food, the Vu for lunch outside, the Octagon- outside dining for lunch by the fountain, and the best of all- for fancy and pricey go to the Alchemy at the Copperwynd Resort, the food and view are to die for. Save it for an important occasion. All these restaurants are in Fountain Hills, so there is no need to go very far for good food. There were many, many more that we would like to try next time. The airport is not far, maybe 25-30 minutes away, and an easy drive. A day or overnight trip to Sedona, Flagstaff, or the Grand Canyon is fun if you are staying for a while. We would recommend this home to a friend, and are planning to return next year, ourselves. One more thing, the Safeway is a wonderful grocery store, includes flowers, deli, wine and liquor, and I think Pharmacy. Be sure to get a club card there, and you will save lots of money at check out.
