Waitsfield Vacation Rental condo

Had a great time! Very Vermont - just what we had hoped for ---The one bedroom condo is pretty spacious. Me, my husband and 3 kids (8 +13+13 - extra friend last minute!) stayed for a week - very comfortable and relaxing. Enjoyed the view of the snowy trees sipping hot chocolate in front of the fire every day. Secluded yet close to everything. Town very quaint and welcoming. Much nicer than staying on the mountain resort - It really felt like home. Skied, snow shoed and played outside all day and then came home to relax watch a movie and play board games at night. Condo was clean and cozy--- the wood stove worked great. I would love to come back!

My family and I just returned from staying at this condo in March 2008. It was exactly like the pictures and description. However, please note that the washer and dryer are not in the unit. They're in the pool room - but it's just across from the parking lot you use to access the unit.

The condo was clean and the kitchen was very well organized. Everything needed for cooking was there. Just as you expect to have a lobster pot when you rent a house in New England or Eastern Canada, there was a Crock Pot for making chili and stews - perfect when we came home from the slopes.

The wood burning stove was easy to light and it really kept the condo warm at night. Only one of the lofts had storage. Expect to have luggage and clothes on the stairway landing where there's access to the first loft. If you have small children they won't mind the lack of privacy - we had two teenage girls. The bed in the master bedroom was very big and very comfortable.

The location is perfect since it's in between Mad River Glen and the Sugarbush Resort. There are plenty of places to rent ski equipment in Waitsfield and you save about 20% off of renting at the mountains.

Waitsfield had some nice restaurants and a decent grocery store to stock up on food. Check out the Meadowbrook Inn on Route 17 - a strange place to find some of the best Indian food! The two owners make food they've found on their travels to South East Asia and Africa.

The weather was perfect for Spring downhill and cross country skiing. 40 degrees during the day and 20 at night. There was a ton of snow already and we had about 3"-5" of new snow each night. My 8 year old son and I hiked on the mountain behind the condo complex. We found deer tracks and saw a herd in the woods.

We're already planning a trip again for next Spring in Vermont and hope to get there in the Summer as well.

This is a great property and the owner was very helpful when it came to planning our trip.
