All the comforts of home.

We have spent a week at BreakAway for each of the past two summers, and absolutely loved it. The house easily accommodated our family of 5 (including three kids ages 15, 12, 10) plus my parents, for a total of 7 people. Grandma and Grandpa had their own, very large, room upstairs. The kids had their own play area in the basement, complete with games, furniture, and a tv.
The kitchen appliances, ourdoor grill, and amenities were very high quality, and the house was well stocked with dishes and cooking utensils of all types. One of our children has very severe food allergies and it's hard for us to eat out, so a nice kitchen is important to us on vacation!
Room air conditioners, an outdoor 'sand' shower, a second fridge in the garage, and high speed internet access made us even more comfortable.
Breakaway is just a few minutes from the beach, or from the General Store, and we enjoyed the short walks every day.
If you visit Brewster/Cape Cod, some of the things we recommend include:
* Play with hermit crabs.
* Body surf in the ocean waves.
* Visit the National Seashore - Coast Guard Beach is fabulous.
* Tour a lighthouse. The lighthouse in Chatham is open for 'inside' tours occasionally (once a week in the summer).
* Take a Whale Watch boat tour - we enjoyed the Dolphin Fleet tour in Provincetown. When shopping for Whale Watches, try to find a boat that has a naturalist on board so that your voyage is more educational!
* Cape Cod Potato Chip factory.
* Brewster General Store.
* Marine Life Cruise, run by the Mass Audobon Society, which sails from Wellfleet Harbor. We liked the Whale Watch more, but the Marine Life Cruise was really fun too!
* RELAX!!
We hope that you enjoy the Cape as much as we did!
