This beautiful luxurious Spanish style house named Albacore, is on one-third of an acre right on Playa Hermosa, rated as one of the top five beaches for all of Costa Rica. We have spacious rooms with a king & double beds including two full bathrooms. The large kitchen is fully stocked with every amenity. Washer, dryer, disposal, dishwasher, the works! Your feet hug Brazilian tile throughout the house. All 1900 square feet are air-conditioned. A safe is included for your added security. Hermosa is a world famous surfing beach for it's consistent and excellent waves. Our smoke-free home is also a five-minute drive or just two short miles south of Jaco, the country's most popular beach town. We have an elevated deck with a 360% view of the five mile beach to the west and jungle and mountains to the east. A newly completed full size pool shimmers before you as you look out to the ocean, and what an ocean it is. Imagine a beach as far as you can see with no crowds

Albacore is just a five-minute drive or just two short miles south of Jaco, the country's most popular beach town. There you will find over 100 restaurants with every type of cuisine you might want. At the north end of our beach, Hermosa, are wonderful low key restaurants with great breakfasts, lunches and dinners for very reasonable prices. We found we could just go to these nearby surfer restaurants and nightclubs and be very happy. Just going up on our elevated deck you will find you will want to do many times during the day and night. The waves at Playa Hermosa are something to take in throughout your trip. Many times there are surfers in front of the house which are very fun to watch. Long walks on the beautiful charcoal sand are a must, especially at sunset.

Previous vacationers share their experiences.: From David Estis, Glendale, California We had a great time in Hermosa. We love the house, and the location is ideal. We were surprised at the amount of wildlife behind the house, including birds, iguanas and a large group of monkeys. As for the surfing, we couldn't have had it better - waking up to an awesome surf break all to ourselves. The house is just far enough from Jaco - close enough to go to the restaurants and bars, but far enough for peace and quiet. We had everything we needed. You have done an excellent job in setting up the place! All in all, it was an amazing trip - We are already trying to figure out when we can return.

The pool and jacuzzi made the stay even more wonderful. Our tours were great . The deep sea fishing with king tours was great. The month at Albacore including the sunsets up in the look out and the view of the ocean will be missed. That's why we are coming back next year. Costa Rica is truly wonderful and so is Albacore. How can you ever leave your house?

Dear Paul,

We are packing up and straightening things here at Albacore, as we sadly have to leave your lovely home and Costa Rica to return to "reality." It has been a very special, fun and relaxing vacation for all of us. I'm glad you contacted me from the Yahoo VR group, as I have no idea where we might have ended up in CR otherwise.

We stayed within the area for the 7 full days we were here. Since our son is just 2 1/2 and we returned each afternoon for his nap, we didn't want to venture too far. A couple of days we just played on the beach, swam in the pool and walked in the "jungle" behind the house.
Your home is beautiful here, how do you leave? I hope you get to come often. What is the story with the location and place next door? It looks like it may have been a restaurant of some sort but also looks like there is a helicopter pad next door. The beach is unparalleled in it's beauty and serenity. I walked almost daily and Matt took many runs - I will never forget the beauty and incredible solitude! I definitely have never seen anything like it anywhere else. We enjoyed many lunches and dinners in the tower. We saw lots of monkeys one day on our trek back to the trees behind the house but we didn't see them again. We saw some macaws here and there, but never the big group that you described.

The house is very well equipped, especially considering we are in Costa Rica! It seems as though the living here is actually pretty good compared to some other Central and Latin American countries. It was a great luxury to have a US phone. Our son had a nice time making some calls to his grandparents to tell them about his adventures and my husband was able to receive some birthday calls from his family. The wireless is also great, as well as having a dishwasher and washer/dryer. We find those things have heightened importance now in order to keep up with work and keep after our son.

Our stay at Albacore will be one of the
most cherished memories of my life.
From it's scenic views of the beaches
and rain forest to the posh amenities
and comfort, Albacore had everything we
wanted and then some. My time spent in
Costa Rica will always be remembered
and it could not have been possible
without our truly magical stay at
Albacore. My only regret is that we
didn't longer! There's always next

Hi Paul,
Just wanted to tell you how nice of a trip we had in Costa Rica, it was one of the best trips we've taken! Your tips on restaurants were great and the directions were perfect as well.


We enjoyed spending time out on the lookout deck watching the waves and the iguanas on the roof! The house was great and we had a really relaxing time in it and just wanted to say thank you.


We're excited to go back to Costa Rica in the future and when we do we'd love to stay at Albacore again and relive some of the great memories we had there!

We just returned from a.. not long enough..week in Paradise at the beautiful Albacore home. It was a dream just as stated by other past guests, to a few I owe a great big THANKS for directing us to some good times.
Though you do not need to leave the house to enjoy your visit, we found it a perfect jumping off place to explore some of our.. bucket list.. dreams. Deep sea fishing was great as we caught a few nights dinner, as well as seeing Dauphins and Mantee's, even sea turtles mating in 400' of ocean waters.
The guest book at the house tells a lot of good adventures by quite a few visitors, and I might add all were very truthful.If you are into bird watching there is a great refuge for birds only 30 minutes from the house.

Paul and Pamela are owners that really care about their guests enjoying there home.There is something for everyone in this easy going beautiful country. It is easy to see why Paul and Pam decided to buy there.
Paul recommended a restaurant right down the road called the Jungle Cafe, We had dinner there with Maui-Maui and the biggest cut of Tuna I have ever seen at a restaurant, including drinks for all four of us our bill was $41.00. WOW the food is all good and so reasonable. The people are all very friendly and helpful.
When you go you need to go to the Villa Caletas for the sunset and their Sunset margarittas.
