We have the best of both worlds -- close enough to Newport (12 miles) to go to dinner or take in the galleries, shops, music festivals, aquarium, brew pubs, and other attractions -- yet our beach has the rare combination of rocks (for good fishing and picturesque sunsets), tide pools, and wide open stretches for walking. You won't find this kind of beach in Newport or Waldport, only in between, which is where we are. And seeing other people on 'our' beach is unusual! The village of Seal Rock (our postal address) is one mile up the road, with several antique and gift shops and a convenience store. Four miles south is Waldport, with a great supermarket, fish market, post office, video rental, more antique shops, and a great dock where you can go crabbing or rent a small boat to toss crab rings into the bay. They'll even cook your crabs for you! Take a hike into old growth wilderness just a few miles away, with good maps from the U.S. Forest Service.

Notes: One bedroom has a queen bed; the other has a trundle bed. Living room has a brand new sleeper-sofa. Good cell phone reception. We have recently installed an emergency warning system (radio) that will sound an alarm in case of tsunami or other emergency. (Hopefully you will never hear it.)

My husband & I stayed at this very comfortable cabin for a week. We had everything we needed right at our fingertips, all the luxuries of home. It is obvious that care has been taken to provide for the needs of thier guests. Including many informational pamphlets and postings about the surrounding area and its provisions.
We had amazing weather! Beginning of November with sunny, clear skies made the beach even more beautiful, and a minus tide showed us very colorful, very busy tidepools. At night we could hear the ocean from the cabin.
We look forward to returning to this cabin as often as possible! We found it perfect in everyway.

I'm so glad our place welcomed you, and made you feel comfortable and at home. And it really IS an amazing, beach, isn't it? Especially at minus tides. We sometimes even gather mussels during the minus tides. They're so easy to cook -- so if you like shellfish, you might give that a try sometime!

My husband and I stayed at this adorable and cozy cottage on the Oregon coast for our 14th anniversary this last weekend. We had a nice time walking down to the beach and watching the waves roll in. The drive to Newport is only a about ten minutes or so to the north and Waldport is about the same to the south, so the location is convenient. I highly recommend this to anyone who is looking to get away for a weekend or maybe even longer. We hope to bring the kids with us next time for a summer holiday next year. We look forward to it and can't wait to see the coast again.

This place is just perfect ti stay in! We were here from Aug 27th-Sept1st for our 2 year anniversary and we had the most amazing setting. The cool winds on the beach, CABLE TV (we don't have this at home), a nice warm cozy house to come home to. The whole time we were here, the locals thought we had just got together because we were constantly flirty and kissing...but you can help it because the amazing sounds and sights, just makes you want to cuddle with your partner. We will be back as soon as we can. We left a shovel for the next guests to try and beat our great sand castles! You will enjoy the great amenities this house offers from the quiet neighborhood, the VERY short distance to the beautiful Oregon beach, a fully loaded house with plenty of dishes, coat hangers, bedding, DVD and VCR player and the games. We did not a one dull minute there...so much fun! Trust me, I could write a novel about this place and Ingrid and Ralph are just the sweetest couple ever. They are so easy to get along with and they are so respectful, they make you feel like a part of the family and right at home. Hope to see you soon Seal Rock!

We spent the week of July 20th to 27th,2008.Your beach was very comfortable & homey. It had everything we needed. A 2 minute walk took us toan almost Private beach. One of nicest on the coast. We would recommend this place to anyone looking to advoid all the hustle & bustle of most other areas. Jerry & Ruth Potter
