Our Estate of Villas, in Arenal Springs by the Lake, is located on the Northwest side of Lake Arenal. It is in the Central Highlands of the Guanacaste Province. Only 5 miles from Nuevo Arenal. We are centrally located for tourism. You can travel one direction to La Fortuna and Volcano Arenal in about 40 minutes. You can take the other direction and visit Monteverde in about 80 minutes. Far enough from the crowds of tourists, but close enough to take your day tours or activities. Many restaurants and local markets close by in the safe little town of Arenal. Sit back, relax and enjoy the surrounding beauty of this 13 Acre Estate.

It IS Paradise

I have stayed at the Villas Estate on several occasions. It is by far the best place to stay in the Arenal area. The owner is extremely accommodating and goes out of his way to see that your stay is comfortable. The property is immaculately maintained and you feel like you are staying at a 5 star resort. The location is perfect for reaching the various attractions in the area while also giving you absolute serenity to allow for maximum relaxation. I have never had such long stretches of absolute tranquility anywhere else. I absolutely recommend this location to anyone looking for a quiet, accommodating stay with amazing views and top notch facilities.

Once-in-a-Lifetime Family Trip

My mother-in-law sponsored a once-in-a-lifetime family trip for all 20 of us to go to Costa Rica in March of 2009. We booked the entirety of Arenal Springs Villa Estate, which served as our landing spot and first place to stay. Some of our group was held up for two days in Atlanta (shame on Delta!) Tom and his staff were excellent at helping us manage this situation. The views from this property are breathtaking. The staff is great, very knowledgeable and extremely helpful. If I could have consulted these people on my plans before we arrived, our trip wuld have been even better. And Tom is a gracious host. We saw and heard howler monkeys on the property almost every day we were here. It was a great location from which to explore the area, La Fortuna and of course the Arenal Volcano. I can highly recommend it. It was a highlight of our trip.

Arenal Springs Villa Estate - Excellent Property

Rented all four houses in May 2008 for three nights. The pictures justify the property. Houses were clean, view is exceptional and landscaping is well-maintained. The most remarkable thing is that despite all the vegetation there were no musquitoes allowing us to enjoy the beautiful landscaped property at all times.

There is no air-conditioning. Was informed by the owner that the houses had fans and there was no need for airconditioning in that region. But the house referred to as Casa Primera had a fan only in the dining area. The three bedrooms in that house had no fans making it uncomfortable during our stay. The other houses had fans.

Pool and hot tub were well-maintained. No extra towels were provided. Adequate laundry detergent is not provided for the washing machines.

Have seen better equipped kitchens in other rental properties. If intending to prepare any meals, shop for all the necessaries at a grocery store called Christian Super store in Fortuna (one hour drive or more for vacationers because of the winding roads) No extra trash bags were provided despite repeated requests - until the last evening.

A family lives on the property. The biggest drawback is trying to contact them. There are no phones in the houses. If your cell phone does not work (none of our cell phones worked) you have to drive down or walk down the long steep dark driveway to get information.

Walking in the dark on an unlighted very steep driveway has been quite an experience when we had to go to the other houses after dark from Casa Grande. Was informed that lighting the driveway upto to the main house (Casa Grande) was on the works.

Our last day, close to checkout time, the houses did not have running water. This was a great inconvenience as the washing machines could not complete the wash cycles and children were without water in the middle of their showers. Was informed that due to lack of rains the water tanks were running empty.

The grill/dinner prepared by the family for a price was very good.

The property is close to activies (15 to 20 minute dirve to Eco Lodge) such as Canyon Ziplining, Horse Riding and Hiking.

Despite the inconveniences, we had a wonderful time at the property. The gentleman taking care of the property was generally accomodating and apologised or explained the lack of things. Overall would recommend this rental property to my friends.
