Loon Island is connected by a strip of land to the North shore of Lake Bonaparte. Park on our mainland lots and walk a hundred yards to this rustic island compound carrying your food,personal items,including towels and bed linens. The large cedar shingled cottage is ideal for a family of 5-6 and the smaller cottage could be the grandparent's quarters. Both camps have complete kitchens,The larger camp's flush toilet and bathhouse are outside,the smaller camp has a inside toilet with tiled shower. A sleeping cabin by water's edge offers privacy for two. Swimming raft, boat dock ,rowboat and canoe included in rental. We are as tolerant of pets as we are of people, but No smoking, No fireworks, No kidding. 1/2 of rental fee to make a reservation with no refund after June 1 and final payment due 2 weeks before rental date. Bonaparte: Lake Bonaparte (at one time the domain of Napolean's brother Joseph, who had lost his kingship of Spain) is a clear, clean lake, low in acid and rich in plant, insect and fish life. From Loon Island you can wade right in from our sand beach. If you would rather catch fish than join them, you will be most successful in the cooler weather.
