Bahamas Adventure

The location of the rental unit is very convenient, beach access is avaiable at the end any of the streets off of Royal Palm. Port Lucaya is also just a short drive away as was the groccery store. The unit itself was very clean and the new Bamboo flooring is very nice. The pool is just a few steps off the balcony and the temperature of the water was perfect. The weather while we were there was gorgeous, it was a little too hot to stay on the beach for long, except early in the morning to watch the sun rise, not a bad way to start each day. The customer service provided was excellent, we made short work of the bottle of wine that was left to welcome us. We made several trips to the casino, one of us was luckier than the other, but healthy donations were made to the Bahamian economy. Gold Rock Beach is a definite must see, it is a strangely beautiful spot, but you must go at low tide. The water is crystal clear even when you do find a spot where the water is deeper that your knees. The three of us ate in most nights, but we did go out to breakfast a couple of times to Zorba's in Port Lucaya, the night we went out to eat we went to Luciano's, also in Port Lucaya, the food was excellent. Luciano's has a Prix Fixe menu so that you can save a little money if that is your wish. The Garden of the Groves is also something to see, once you are done with the tour definitely try a Banana Diaquiri at the bar/restaurant, the homemade Hummas is excellent also. All in all we had a very relaxing vacation, the only downside was the impact of the ecomimic problems was very evident. There are numerous restaurants and hotels/resorts that were closed, the International Bazaar was all but deserted. It made us very sad, we just hope that once the economy turns around the island will thrive. The people everywhere were friendly and helpful. I would definitely recomend this rental to family and friends.
Owner's Response: The Bahamas Islands are enticing and enchanting. Indeed the people are wonderful. They reach out to you and need you. As the writer says, the island is being impacted by the economy. As the Bahamians say, "When the US sneezes, we catch a cold." They need you now. They need you to come visit the Bahamas. Just your coming and enjoying your vacation of a lifetime will help them to recover their pre-recession lifestyle. So do something good for the Bahamians; Come and enjoy yourself fully. It will be good for both you and them. So call me and make your plans NOW. Kindest & Warmest regards, Doc & Jo Anne. P.S. We will make sure that there is bottle of wine waiting for you too!
