What a nice camp!

This cozy cottage offered exactly the seclusion we were looking for. We didn't want to stay "on the lake" and the waterfall right in the back yard provided an oustanding scene. The whole rear of the sitting area ia essentially one big widow, we spent hours there just reading and looking at the waterfall.
There is also a nice sitting area outside next to the falls with a fire ring. Unfortualtely is was a rainy period and we only got to sit out there once, but it was quite pleasant. We enjoyed watching an american merganzer (a type of diving fish eating duck) working the pools below the falls.
The cabin itself was fully outfitted and very clean. It's just rustic enough to fit in to the surrondings. If you need something that looks like it was built yesterday at considerable expense, with a jacuzzi tub and granite countertops, this cabin is not for you. It's secluded, so you'll need to travel towards town to use your cell phone or get the internet, which was fine with us.
There is a lot to see and do in the surronding area. The Castle in the Clouds, Ruggles Mine, and the New Hampshire Boat Mueseum were all wonderful.
We would definately repeate!
Owner's Response: Dale and Linda's review is a very good description of the cottage and what it does and does not offer. It's secluded enough for a private and quiet and stay, without being too far away from civilization. The waterfall has a natural, peaceful sound, like listening to ocean waves breaking. I'm sorry rain kept them from enjoying a campfire more than once, but in cooler weather there is a fireplace inside, and plenty of firewood.
It's a great place for one or two couples or a small family. It is not a place for a large group. If you want amenities such as video games, the internet or a pool, this would not be the right place for you. It does have cable TV and local phone service. The cottage is a great place to go when you want to get out into the country, away from the commercialized vacation areas such as Lake Winnipesaukee.
