Location, Location, Location!! The Thorn Lodge is featured in 'Summer Cottages of New England.' This historic home has been updated and renovated to accommodate vacationers in any season. Large wrap around porch with views and private, new 6 person hot tub. The balcony is off of two bedrooms with beautiful mountain views. You will have the ability to walk to Wentworth Golf, Jackson Falls, or any fine restaurant in Jackson Village. The property has an antique living room with a fireplace. It also features plenty of room for gathering. Walls and ceiling feature original wood paneling. This property is newly renovated, and has a kitchen with full appliances and a sitting area. There are 3 full, updated bathrooms. One bath features the original claw foot tub. The master bedroom has an attached bath with washer and dryer. This home is cozy and peaceful, perfect for a group of friends on a ski trip or for a family vacationing.10% of all rentals go to charity.

Other activities include the following: A variety of golf courses, and the availability of things to do like biking, hiking, fishing, antiquing, cross-country skiing, shopping, and Story land for the little ones within a few miles, makes this the perfect location to keep everyone in the family happy. The village offers a huge variety of restaurants and pubs for your enjoyment. Also offered are the following: Snowmobiling, canoeing, kayaking, waterfalls and scenic views. Nestlenook and Santa's village are also available. Furthermore, Black Mountain., Wildcat, Cranmore, Attitash, and Bretton Woods are other area attractions. Cross country skiing in Jackson center, Great Glen, Bretton Woods and Mt. Washington. Gold courses nearby are Hale's Location, Wentworth, North Conway and Eagle Mountain.

Summer Options:

There are a large variety of things to do and see in the White Mountain area. Diana's Baths, Echo Lake and The Ledge are all breath taking. A ride up Mount Washington Auto road is only 8 miles up Rte. 16, Ellis Falls , a gondola ride up Wildcat mountain, golf courses have spectacular views; Hale's location, North Conway, Wentworth, and Eagle Mountain are all a short distance. Biking, hiking, rock climbing, canoeing, kayaking, any outdoor sport you can imagine is available. The antiquing and shopping is a short drive. Story land for the little ones is 2 miles away. Finish the day off in one of the many restaurants or pubs. A short quiet walk to beautiful Jackson Falls!

Winter Options:

Located in the heart of Jackson Village you can cross country ski on one of the trails in the biggest touring centers in New England. Other cross country areas are Great Glen, Bretton Woods, Bartlett and Mt Washington. If downhill skiing is for you, you are a short drive away from Wildcat, Attitash, Cranmore, Bretton Woods and Black Mountain. For a delightful old fashioned evening be sure to go to Nestlenook, 1/4 mile down the street. Sleigh rides and skating in an old fashion Victorian village.

Ski:

5-15 minutes from major ski areas across the street from cross country ski trails and a 5 minute walk to Jackson Falls.

Golf:

Located 2 minutes from two beautiful courses: Eagle Mountain Course and Jackson .

WE LOVE THIS HOUSE!

The pictures do not do this house justice. My friends and I stayed here for a weekend at the end of October, and it was absolutely beautiful! The house is wonderfully inviting and the owners make you feel right at home, with every detail covered. The house was very clean, extremely comfortable, fully modernized, and the scenery of the fall foliage was magnificent. The town of Jackson is truly charming, and theres a lot more to do if youre willing to drvie a bit ( the house is equipped with a lot of pamphlets of what to do in the area). The only problem we had was our GPS. Dont listen to it- it'll take you to the wrong house- follow the directions that the owners provide. Overall, this house is amazing and the owners are so nice. I would definitly stay here again- it's like staying with family.

Christmas Holiday

We would rate this house a perfect five-stars. Our family spent this Christmas at this beautiful home, and were completely satisfied with the location, the amenities and the beauty and comfort of this rental. It is walking distance to the village of Jackson and a cute coffee shop at the bottom of the hill. The house is completely equipped and has the most beautiful views. The owners even provided a Christmas Tree for us! Thank you, Chris and Mike for making our 2011 Christmas family holiday wonderful. We look forward to renting your property many more times.

Perfectly Private but Convenient

Could not have asked for a nicer couple to work with to arrange this visit to Jackson, NH. The home is immaculate and nicely appointed to suit this country home. The special touches of filled candy dishes and a thoughtful welcoming bottle of wine do not go unnoticed and are so appreciated. The beds were wonderfully comfortable and after hiking Tuckerman's Revine we melted away in the well-tended hot tub. You know you are being transported someplace special when you drive through a covered bridge--don't forget to steal a kiss. We especially thank Chris and Mike for graciously giving a portion of the rental back to charity--this is the character of these folks. Thank you for your generous contribution to Dana Farber and Climb4Cancer.

A 5 Star Rental

Our week in Jackson was absolutely perfect. This home is like walking into a five star hotel - complete with linens tied up in ribbons and every possible amenity for comfort. The house is watched over and cleaned by the owners - no detail is spared. We spent a great deal of time on the porch - enjoying the view, watching the wildlife, reading, and watching the changing sky. The pictures of the house are only a tease - it is a house filled with love and is a home away from home. Everything is comfortable - the beds, the rockers, the living room and the surround sound music on the porch or in the house. You can walk to the Jackson Falls or into town (beware of the hill but you will feel you have conquered a mountain once you walk it). There are is a restaurant for every taste - our favorite was Yesterdays for lunch (or the general store) and Thompson House Eatery (there was not a thing on the menu we would not have tried). The house is at the center of all the great things in the White Mountains - from Diana's Baths to the Glen Ellis Falls or the path to Tuckerman's Ravine. We have been coming to this area for years and this was the BEST vacation we have ever had. The owners are a pleasure.

excellent choix

La maison est très belle, bien située (autant pour le ski de fond que l'alpin) et bien entretenue. A noter, le lit superposé ne convient pas aux «grands» enfants (le matelas creuse). Les transactions avec les propriétaires sont très faciles. Nous y retournerions sans hésiter.
