Short of Expectations

Our one week summer holiday was not what we expected.
The location of our condo was good, but the unit itself left a lot to be desired. A certain amount of revamping is needed...better kitchen amenities(pots, pans, old fridge with broken drawers, shelves..) overcrowded huge furniture unsuitable for size of spaces, lower floor laundry room converted to bedroom not suitable, den TINY for two beds...
TV's not working-had to switch them around, but worst of all...NO AIR CONDITIONING. Portable unit in living area was a total waste. Would not recommend this place for in the heat of the summer. Unbearably hot. Actually considered moving to another location, but too costly at this point. They accepted our pet, which was good, but even he couldn't bear the heat.
Owner's Response: We made an acceptation to the pet policy as these people were having a hard time locating anything suitable.
The unit is located right in the heart of a wooded glen just off the main pedestrian village. Easy access to all activates and other amenities. The size of the property and the location make it very popular for our clients.
The kitchen is fully equipped - dish washer - micro wave - full stove - and fridge. There are also all the normal small appliances and the kitchen is set up with service for ten plus.
The TVs - all 3 of them work and there was no need to switch the TV - when we returned to the unit we switched the TVs back and they were and are all in working condition. Not sure how they tried to use the TV.
In terms of furniture - the living room is equipped with 3 large comfortable chairs (sofa type chairs) and a sofa- have never had any complaint about over crowding before. The furniture is all new and in excellent condition.
None of the units in this sector of the Tremblant Resort Village have air conditioning - we have put in a large floor model portable unit to help with hot summer days- in addition the sleeping areas on the lower level are never over heated. The main level and the master bedroom up stairs can definitely be warm. We do have a ceiling fan in the living room and portable fans in 3 other bedrooms.
The home is 1700 sq.ft. on 3 levels – not a small home. If the clients had rented a 3 bedroom in the pedestrian village the unit would have been about 1100 sq.ft. for a 3 bedroom. There would have been air conditioning but they would not be able to have 8 people all accommodated in separate bedrooms (in fact this party may have been 10). 3 small bedrooms and a sofa bed in the living room would have been the configuration.
In addition the price would have been about 40 - 50 % more but they would not have been able to make a reservation in this type of accommodation as pets are NOT allowed.
I realize that this type of unit can be hot especially when it was one of the warmest couple of weeks in about 10 years.
This group should realize that with a dog the number of properties that are available to them is probably less than 5 % of the total inventory available in the whole resort area and none of them have air conditioning - at least they had partial air conditioning in our unit.
Thank you - owner.
