We really enjoyed this vacation home or "cottage". It looks just like the pictures. The front porch is a great feature because it is spacious and allows you a great place to sit and relax outdoors (and barbecue) when not at the beach. It is barely a minutes walk from beautiful New Smyrna beach. It is also easy walking distance to nearby restaurants including the main Flager Ave.
The cottage is very clean and very well-equipped. It does have a very cottage feel, full of character but with modern amenities. The owners are attentive and responsive.
We would definitely stay there again. The area itself is very quiet. And it is great to have a dog friendly vacation home so doggy can come along too!

Romantic Beach Cottage

This is my fourth time to stay in the beautiful beach cottage in the past 4 years. The first stay I intended to stay 2 weeks and it turned into a couple months!!! I was hooked on this peacful place to recharge! My husband and I became engaged here and we intend to keep coming back at least twice a year. Richard and Lucille, the owners of the property take such pride and great care of this "jewel" in NSB...that we always know when we pull in the driveway, it's going to be wonderful!

Best restored antique vacation home ever!!

This was our third stay at the "adorable cottage". We love this place. The house is immaculately clean, adorably decorated,conveniently located, comfortable and every detail addressed. There are 3 TV'S, beautiful linen, extra pillows, washer and dryer in the unit, large beautiful NEW bathroom with 2 sinks. Every kitchen gadget, dishwasher, formal dinning room, out door dining table & chairs & Gas grill, lounge chairs for lounging after the beach, beach chairs are provided and an out door shower. What more could you want. The restaurants are great, Boston Fish is our favorite, just like home! We even went to a play. Loads of shops for shopping, browsing, beach walking, Walking to town, around the corner, stopping in every watering hole, we even have a few friends that remembered and greeted us.
The beach in among the best on the East Coast.
We highly recommend this cute little private home, perfect for children, adults and Pets! The owners are very easy to deal with, always available. The neighbors are friendly and often stop with a recommendation or what ever is new in town and the goings and comings.
The rate is every reasonable. We will be back.

This was our second year at Carol Ave. When we arrived last year we were surprised and disappointed to discover the "cottage" is in reality a lower unit in a triplex building. The upstairs apartment proved difficult to rent and remained empty during our stay so we gambled on a second year. Unfortunately it was not to be. Suffice it to say that the sound deadening between floors is sparse if any.
The rest of the apartment is pretty well as presented in the listing description. The location is excellent with close proximity to the beach. Flagler Avenue and shopping is nearby. The front porch is outstanding although the view is diminished by the three parking spots in front.. The equipment while serviceable is getting quite long of tooth. In our opinion the addition of a screen door is essential and would raise the quality of life significantly.

Owner's Response: We are very disappointed and sorry we could not make there stay at our lovely cottage satisfactory. We feel our home is advertised exactly what it is. We have painstakingly rehabbed this property in the past few years back to most of the original state and personally love antique homes. All of the materials and furnishings are upscale but if you are looking for modern this is not the place for you.

John and Billy stayed last season so they new the property well. We heard, indirectly they did not care for the bamboo shades in the bedroom or the adorable porch rockers and replaced them to make them more comfortable during there stay.

Our lease gives our tenants the opportunity to save a cleaning fee if they leave the property in the same cleanliness as when check in. Most are happy and agree when they sign the lease. Of coarse we do sanitize between rentals.

They were really not happy because we had to clean the house to a greater degree than usually and between damages had to charge them a portion of there security deposit. I believe they got a great value for the amount of time they stay with there pet. Sometime you can not make everyone happy no matter how much you try.

My wife and I enjoyed a two month stay in this unique cottage. The location and amenities were exceptional. We found Flagler Avenue to be an enjoyable collection of shops and eateries. The merchants offered several different attractions such as Mardi Gras, Wine and Art show as well as a St. Patrick's Day celebration to name a few.
The property was clean and generally well maintained
All in all an enjoyable interlude away from the snow. We will be back next year.
