‘Smoky View’ is a spacious two bedroom, two bath cabin in a Townsend mountain community known as Laurel Valley. Both bedrooms have king size beds and one bath has a Jacuzzi. The great room has sofa, loveseat, and recliner, all in front of a large stone fireplace. Once you have climbed a few steps to enter, everything is all on one level. A porch runs the length of the cabin and has a swing and rockers for looking at the beautiful mountains and scenery or watching for that occasional wildlife. A fully equipped kitchen is at your disposal, seating for six, and a full size washer and dryer. The cabin is set on an acre of wooded property, close to restaurants, and approximately 10 minutes from the national park.

Located in Townsend , 'Smoky View' is in beautiful Laurel Valley and is close to many activities. From this location, you can enjoy the Laurel Valley Golf Course (extra fee). To get the local flavor, enjoy the Little River for fishing, tubing and swimming. Cades Cove, 15-20 min., is a historic settlement with an 11 mile loop road for car, bicycle, or foot. There are also several hiking trails and picnic sites and historic structures to tour. Townsend has little shops and several home style restaurants to enjoy. For additional shopping and entertainment, Pigeon Forge is a 25 min. drive and Gatlinburg is a 30 min. drive through the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Area attractions include: Dollywood, Dollywood’s Splash Country, Ripley’s Aquarium of the Smokies, and music/comedy entertainment venues. Townsend has festivals for arts and crafts and a local fly fishing school and supplies for the trout enthusiast.

Further details for 'Smoky View': Towels, sheets, toilet paper, paper towels, soap, dishwasher detergent and laundry detergent provided. Charcoal and lighter fluid not provided. You will find the cabin very clean upon your arrival. This cabin is located in a quiet mountain community. House parties, loud music and noise are not permitted. Smoking and pets are also not permitted.

A 15 day before arrival cancellation notice is required for deposit refund (minus a $10 cancellation fee). Refunds are not given due to inclement weather, sickness, mechanical failures, early departures. If you are asked to vacate the cabin due to smoking, pets, loud behavior, etc., rental money will not be refunded.

Fall in Townsend is a great draw because of the changing tree colors. Leaves usually change beginning in early October and go through early November. Townsend is very quiet in the winter and is a wonderful place for peace and quiet. Build a fire in the stone fireplace, sit back and relax.

This was a great cabin and a wonderful vacation. I traveled up with my husband and our two year old son, we had a wonderful time. It was very quiet at the cabin, we had everything we needed there. It was very well equipped and very clean. Tim and Vickie were very easy to rent from and everything worked out perfectly.

wonderful getaway from the suburbs

our family was celebrating our son's state of being in remission from hodgkins lymphoma in august of this year (2009) so we chose a cabin in the cool mountains of townsend, tn. we loved every minute of our retreat, from the wonderful view from our porch to the daily swims in the pool nearby to the exciting activities in the area. our 4 year old granddaughter loved our first ever float down the river in a tube and the peaceful drive thru cades cove with views of animals. the cabin offered planty of room for the 5 of us, and the kitchen allowed us the ability to make several nice meals to share.

my favorite activity was rocking on the porch watching the sun come up in the morning with my coffee, as well as watching the woods get dim in the evening from the same spot. very peaceful and refreshing. i really think anyone would love this experience.

We were not disappointed after walking in the front door of this cabin. Everything was the way it was described and better. The front porch has an excellent view of the mountains, was very peaceful and relaxing. The cabin was clean and inviting. The owners were pleasant and very helpful in every way possible. I would recommend this cabin to anyone who wants to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The owners give great directions to the cabin.
