This fully equipped cottage includes a pressed tin ceiling and hardwood floors throughout, 4 bedrooms, 2 full baths, has a fully equipped kitchen, family room with field stone fireplace and will sleep up to 12. Other amenities include TV with satellite dish, DVD/VCR, washer/dryer, BBQ grill, fire pit, kayak, and inner tubes to float down to 'the big lake'. Within 2 miles of the village of Silver Lake, the area offers Lake Michigan and Silver Lake for swimming and boating, hikes to the Little Sable Lighthouse, farmer's markets, festivals, craft shows, shopping in Silver Lake, Pentwater and Ludington, mini-golf, dune rides, fabulous biking trails, horseback riding and more. This is ideal for families with kids and for weekends in the fall when the area glows with color. No pets allowed. Non-smoking only.

Located on the very western end of Silver Lake Channel, 2 miles from the town of Silver Lake. The Silver Lake Channel runs between popular Silver Lake and Lake Michigan. The channel is a shallow sandy bottomed water way that can be used to walk or tube to the swimming beaches of Lake Michigan. The beautiful Little Sable Lighthouse and park with hiking trails are less than a mile away. Public access for boaters to Silver Lake are 2 miles from the cottage and public access to Lake Michigan is located in Pentwater.

Additional information about rental rates

  • May1-October 31 $1800/Week, $300/2 night weekend, $400/3 night weekend.
  • Rental Season: May1-October 31
    Weekly Rentals: June through August. $1800/week. $300 security deposit (refundable) required. To book the week, $900 down payment is required, with the remaining $900 + $300 security deposit ($1200 total) due no later than two weeks prior to arrival date. Cottage is considered booked when down payment is received and check has cleared.
    Weekends: Spring and Fall. Based on double occupancy; $300/ 2 night weekend, $400/3 night weekend. To book a weekend, $150 is required to hold the weekend, with the remaining $$ due no later than 3 days prior to arrival date.
    Cash, checks or money orders are accepted.
  • Cancellation Policies:
    Weekly Rentals: You may cancel at anytime prior to arrival date and receive a full refund if the cottage can be re-rented. If the cottage cannot be re-rented, no refund will be extended.
    Weekend Rentals: Cancellations may be made up to 3 days prior to arrival with a full refund. After that, the $150 deposit will not be refunded.
    Check in time for weekly rentals is on Saturday at 3pm. Checkout time is 11a.m. the following Saturday.
    Check in time for weekends is 3pm Friday, and checkout is 12 pm on departure date.

We had a great time, wonderful location for a family vacation. On site laundry is definitely a plus, where you don't have to pack so many clothes. Also they've got inner tubes, rafts, floats, kayak, etc. for the kids to use on the channel and at the lake as weather allows. Outdoor firepit to enjoy under the stars. This is definitely a great vacation spot if you like relaxing, beach, water.

Just returned from 5 days with the family at the cottage...Grandma and Grandpa, 5 other adults, and 4 kids aged 5 to 8. Everyone was happy!
Despite the rave reviews, we never expected the place to be so well-equipped...we have never been anywhere at a rental that provided such amenities.
Kids loved the channel and proximity to beach. We saw so many big fish in the channel, as well as deer most days.
We hope to rent next year, too. It was a perfect place to relax and get to visit with the family while the kids were happily occupied.
Can't say enough nice things about the place.

Great time with family

My mom, brother, and sisters and all our families rent a cottage on or near Lake Michigan every year. We have 5 small children under the age of 5 in the family and had just a great time at this cottage. It was perfect for small children being next to the creek and having the shallow swimming area (pools of water on the beach) on Lake Michigan.

The cottage itself was one of the best we have stayed in. It was very clean, everything was in good condition, and was better than what the pictures portrayed. The rooms were very spacious and there was a lot of room for 5 small children and all their stuff without sufficating the rest of the adults.

We also, as adults, had a great time around the campfire and relaxing on the beach and taking the kayak out for rides. We spent time at Craig's Cruisers, went on Mac Woods Dune Rides, and did a little shopping, and lots of walking on the beach and sightseeing.

It was a really good time - we want to rent it again next year - but are expecting 3 new babies this year in our family and are afraid we will have to get something even bigger!

I highly recomment you rent this cottage!

I must say this was the best rental that I have ever stayed at. The home is perfect with so many amenities included. The kids spent all day in the channel kayaking and floating down to Lake Michigan on inner tubes. Every evening we walked to the Lake to watch the sunset. I can't even put it into words how great this place is. I can't wait to go back!
