A Christmas Memory

Review Submitted: March 25, 2009 Date of Stay: December 2008
Hardly a day goes by that we do not talk about the wonderful month we spent in Vermont at this home. Our children had never seen snow, and boy did they see lots of it. The place could not have been nicer. So much open space and lots and lots of windows. We would spend the morning drinking coffee and watching the birds snack at the birdhouse, while our two young children were safely playing on the large wrap around deck. There were endless opportunities for exploration around the large lot. I can only imagine how much fun we would have in the summer with the creek. Although we did have fun throwing snow and ice into the creek and watch it melt away. The house is away from any noise, you are basically the last house on the street. We saw wild turkey on morning walks. We were also centrally located to many activities and quaint little towns. The owner was so helpful with suggestions of activities, places to eat (the brewery was fabulous) and just checking in to see if there was anything we ever needed. The house was very clean and the kitchen was awesome! We made dinner every night and sat around the large dining room table. The wood burning stove was fun for making smores. We can not wait to go again and see what summer time holds for us. I hope we can get this house again because during our month stay this place became our home.

A PERFECT Christmas Holiday!

Review Submitted: January 12, 2012 Date of Stay: December 2011
This is a magical place! The chalet is wonderful, charming, comfortable, clean, orderly and I would have to say that staying at this property was a slice of heaven for me and my entire family. Thanks to the owner of this property for sharing such a lovely home with our family, as we had day after day of lasting, cherished memories.
The home is much more lovely than the pictures tell, it has everything we needed to have a beautiful holiday season. The place felt like home the minute we arrived. Everything that you need to feel comfortable is available at this rental, from the clean and nice linens to the dishes/cookware/stemware. The view is spectacular and we loved the babbling brook and peace that this home offers. It is the last home on the road up the mountain and it is very secluded. We loved the fact that when we hiked up the mountain we could let our dog run thru the forest without being leashed. At the bottom of the mountain is a quiet, little town that offers a really tasty pizza place and also a very nice furniture/pottery shop. We were able to take day trips and then return to the Chalet in the evenings to gather around the wood stove and share a glass of wine or play a game of Monopoly at the large kitchen table. We were able to watch the snow fall softly through the large glass windows. The bathrooms are spacious, clean and comfortably located in the home. It was very handy to have a clothes washer, dryer and dishwasher available to use. It was very nice to have the internet and a land phone line available to stay in contact with the outside world.
We prepared breakfast in the nicely equipped kitchen in the mornings as our family gathered around the large center island sipping coffee, conversing and watching the cook at work preparing pancakes and warm Vermont Maple Syrup!
The owner provided excellent communication about his home both before getting to VT and after we had arrived and when we returned home. He was accommodating, friendly and very knowledgable about the area and the property.
There are so many lovely things about this property and if you are looking for a peaceful, relaxing, quiet, secluded place to get away from the bustle and stress of life this is the place for you!
We are hoping that we will be able to rent this place again...SOON!

Vermont Paradise - so true!

Review Submitted: January 5, 2012 Date of Stay: November 2011
A perfect family getaway in a lovely and very well equipped chalet. Set high atop the hillside, the privacy and quietness is so peacefully. Every room is comfortable, and yet the family can also choose to be together, or apart. We loved the wrap around deck with mountain and meadow views. Our dogs romped in the fields and we hiked the woods. Listen to the babbling brook while enjoying the spacious acreage. Neighbors are great too, yet not too close by!
The house numbering on the road is confusing. Just keep driving up the hill to the second last house on the left. It is worth every road mile, second and penny invested.
Hardwood floors, quite bedrooms with comfortable matteresses and linens. And the Vermont Casting wood-burning stove heats the rooms quickly.
Your cell phone won't get a signal, but the landline is available. And of course the kids had Internet access.
Unplug. Relax. Enjoy. We look forward to returning to this house. And you will too.

Great Rental for us and our Canine Kids

Review Submitted: October 20, 2010 Date of Stay: October 2010
I just want to say that this is the "best" rental property that we have rented for our "family" vacation (which we have been doing for the past 17 years). In the fall, we always vacation somewhere in New England with our two German Shepherds (the orginal 2 sadly are have passed). The property is very private but yet close to all the area attractions. There are plenty of places to hike and walk the dogs. The stream on the property is beautiful and the pups loved playing in it. The mountain view is fabulous and on clear nights we had a spectaclular view of the Big Dipper from the deck. The open floor plan, wood floors and ceilings, well appointed kitchen and baths and add comfortable mattresses all made for a relaxing and enjoyable week. The wood stove, satellite radio and TV were also added pleasures. We will certainly be back again in a year or so when our relatives for Oregon can join us. The owner, Mason, was extremely helpful and responsive with making this a very memorable week.

Magical

Review Submitted: August 12, 2009 Date of Stay: July 2009
We knew from the moment we pulled up to the house what a magical place this is, we got out of the car and ran down to the creek before we unloaded the trunk. The house is clean and bright and the kitchen is well stocked making it easy to have a relaxing dinner with friends on the beautiful porch. Having some books on birds made it easy to look up the many different birds that were enjoying the feeders while we were having a cup of coffee in the morning. Mason is the most gracious host making our stay even nicer with tips on where to go and where to eat. Thank you for such a wonderful place to stay.
