white tail cabin exceeds expectations

I booked this house for a hiking,star gazing vacation for myself and my adult son. This home fit the bill perfectly. It is away from Rt 3, down a dirt and gravel drive through the woods, and it has a perfect clear spot for the telescope my son brought for star gazing, amoung many stars we saw a satelite, the Andromedia galaxy and my favorite.. the moon.
The house was just as depicted in the photos, very clean with comfy beds and pillows,(I usually can't sleep on anything but my own bed but this bed was great) towels and many plates, glasses, utensils, pots and pans. I was happily surprised by the quality of the appliances and the owners even invited the renters to a selection of teas. The wood burning stove came in handy as the nights were cold and it was a perfect way to end the day.The first floor bathroom is large.The upstairs bedroom is away from the rest of the house down a hall and very quiet.There were plenty of games and books and cds and movies.
Our only comment would be that the sofas are getting old and the direct tv only gets old programming and shopping channels. It took a long time for the owners to get the signed contract back to me but it worked out just as the rental agency said it would. The people at the rental agency were fabulous about answering my numerous emails and I would rent through them again.I am thankful for the owners and their desire to share their special home with us renters.
Acadia is a fantastic place to hike, many difficult trails, and also lots of carriage roads that are not difficult. This is my third trip to Acadia and Bar Harbor.
