cBay Cottage was built around 1940 as a summer Chesapeake Bay get-away cottage. Folks would pack up the station wagon and head to the bay for a week or more! Children would float on inner tubes, catch lively blue crabs, rock fish, 'tooth hunt' and play on the beach while mom and dad would relax and listen to the transistor-radio. Times have changed, but the beach is still the beach. This classic two bedroom beach cottage can comfortably accommodate 2 to 4 adults and a couple children with one double bed, two twin beds and a queen foldout couch in the living room. A fully equipped kitchen, central air, paddle fans in each room, linens and towels included - you just need to bring provisions! cBay has one full bathroom (with shower only and a great outdoor shower as well). With a gorgeous beachfront view of the Bay, a window seat and deck overlooking the beach this is the best location for listening to the waves or watching the gulls and bald eagles play on the Chesapeake Bay.

We are directly on the western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, a 40 minute drive to the US Naval Academy in Annapolis, 35 minutes to Maryland's first settlement - St. Mary's City, just 45 miles southeast of Washington DC, 60 miles south of Baltimore and only 15 miles north of historic Solomons Island - Calvert County, Maryland. To Do: Relax... relax! But if you like to hike - try our endless hiking trails shared with the American Chestnut Land Trust; or take a beach walk. Do you enjoy finding interesting antiques? Or how about bird watching, fossil tooth hunting or skate watching? Enjoy listening to the surf or watch tall and large ships pass. Visit the Patuxent Naval Air Test Pilot Station. Swim, fish, or relearn how to build a sand castle with your children for the first time.

    For longer rental: Please contact us for a special off season long-term rental (November - March) - great for birdwatching, writing or for the artist, mobile clinicians, etc. If a date you desire is reserved, contact us for wait-list and other options.
  • Short-term rate (weekly or less) includes all taxes - no add-ons and no surprises - what you see is our complete walk-in-the-door rate. Long-term rate (30 days or more) does not include county tax or utility deposit.
