Newly renovated spacious studio near Stockbridge town hall and Chime tower. Property overlooks golf course in tranquil garden setting. Short walk to Stockbridge town center. Seven Minute drive to Tanglewood. Fully and attractively furnished for weekly and weekend rental. Good for small children. Play yard, Bicycles available. Sports: The Stockbridge Golf course is open to non-members. The town has 4 public tennis courts in town within walking distance and more at the high school 3 miles away. This area is especially noted for its many hiking trails. You can pick up and walk the Appalaichian trail at many points. On a cool day biking on our many back roads is an option. There are many streams that can be fished. On a hot day you can cool off at several Berkshire lakes nearby, or take an occasional dip in our swimming pool. And for those who just want to sit back with a good book, we have lawn chairs to stretch out on and a wonderful view to please the eye.

Cultural Activities: The Berkshires is especially noted for its many cultural offerings. Stockbridge has the Berkshire Theater Festival. Five miles from Stockbridge is Tanglewood, summer home of the Boston Symphony Orchestra with musical events every evening and many on weekends. Five miles away is also the home of Shakespeare and Company and ten miles east is the Jacob's Pillow Dance Festival. There is a Fringe Festival at Simon's Rock College five miles South in Great Barrington. Also in Great Barrington is a 3 screen art movie theater. A little further south will take you to Sheffield and the Barrington Stage Company. And into Connecticutt you can attend Chamber music concerts in Norfolk and Falls Village. Art Galleries are everywhere, Housatonic, Lenox, Great Barrington. And there are four major museums, the Rockwell museum in Stockbridge, the Clark and Williams College Museum in Williamstown and Mass Moca, the new museum of contemporary art in North Adams.

Wiinter Sports: In the winter if there is snow we have wonderful cross country ski trails. And even if there is no snow, the ski areas, Butternut Basin, Catamount, Bousquet, Jiminy Peak all make snow. If the weather permits, we skate on the many ponds and lakes that abound and for the dedicated skater there is a rink in North Adams.

PERFECT HOME BASE FOR THE BERKSHIRES

  • 5 of 5
Just returned from a 3-night stay at this beautiful studio. Was walking distance from downtown Stockbridge and was even more idyllic than the photos would imply. The small kitchen was perfect for preparing simple breakfasts and we enjoyed lunching in the outdoor garden area as well as swimming in the pool and lounging in the sun with an unspoiled view of Monument Mountain. The bikes available on-site were perfect for bike rides in the area. It was a relaxing retreat, close to all the major sites and a real home-away-from home. The next time we head to the Berkshires, this will definitely be our place of choice!

THE PERFECT BERKSHIRE VACATION

  • 5 of 5
Just stayed 7 days at this very nice, private, quiet, studio apartment, complete with everything you will need. The grounds and gardens were beautiful, with a short walk into Stockbridge and Naumkeag Manor and Gardens. It is centrally located for all Berkshire activities. Our stay could not be better, and we look forward to returning next year.

A WONDERFUL BERKSHIRES GETAWAY

  • 5 of 5
We've enjoyed many happy vacations in this lovely studio. It's centrally located to Tanglewood, golf, tennis, hiking, cycling and the many available cultural activities the Berkshires have to offer. The studio is very clean and comfortable. We enjoy the flexibility to dine in or use the patio grill as an alternative to eating out. The pool, surrounding garden and grounds are serene and lovely. We love the views overlooking the pool and golf course. Everything is very well maintained. The owner, Jane Ryan, is absolutely wonderful. A great value.

IT WAS LOVELY

  • 5 of 5
I stayed there for 5 days/4 nights in 2007. The room is indeed spacious; and while the furniture is a little dated, it was a charming experience. The gardens are spectacular, the pool is wonderful and the location is perfect. I highly recommend it.

Stockbridge is in the Berkshire Hills and like Newport was a summer getaway for New York's 400. Some of the Berkshire 'cottages' can be viewed and have become homes for arts festivals such as Tanglewood or Historic houses open to the public such as Naumkeag, or the Mount, home of Edith Wharton. Others have become hotels such as Blantyre and Wheatley. The community offers a rich mixture of cultural activities, music, dance, theater, museums and galleries. The surrounding hills are part of the network of state parks and can be used for walking, riding, and skiing. There are public golf courses and tennis courts in every town.

Other Activities: Canoeing, Kayaking, cultural activities
