Date of Stay: February 2008
My family and I have stayed twice at the Kerber, once in October 2007 and then again in February 2008, both times we were greeted almost as family, nothing was too much trouble. The location was as was described, right on the edge of the nursery slopes, perfect to ski down in a morning to catch the bus to the harder slopes or to join the beginners. The accommodation we were provided with was always clean and very comfortable, we couldn't want for anything. In the October it was the end of the season but we still found plenty to do although a lot of the restaurants were closing for the quite time before the December start. We caught the train down to Innsbruck twice and visited museums and the Apline Zoo ( very recommended), as well as walked. I had been to Seefeld 20 years ago and was pleasantly surprised at how little it had changed, the atmosphere, the people were still as accommodating as they had been back then. In the February I booked flights, transfer, ski hire, ski lessons all on the internet as well as the apartment, no hitches, no hassel and would do it all again. On arrival at the Kerber it was a simpel stroll to the bottom of the Geigenbuhel to arrange skis for the morning and to confirm the ski school. From then on it was less than 5 mins into the centre for a meal chosen from one of a miriad of eating places ranging in price from the very affordable to "It's just the once".
Beacuse of our experience I would be relucant to recommend this to anybody, friend or foe, it is such a little gem once you have experienced the freindliness of the Kerber you don't feel like going anywhere else! As a family we certainly want to go back but at the moment we've been hit by the credit cruch! We certainly hope to again and when we do I'll do it independantly again.
