Two adjoining houses, sleep 8 and 10 plus 1 baby in each with shared pool.

These beautifully renovated traditional farmhouse and connecting barn conversion are situated in 2.5 acres of garden. They have been furnished to an extremely high standard and are inclusive of all costs (electric, oil, wood etc.). They can be rented as two separate units (sleeping 10 and 8) or together to sleep 18. The grounds have panoramic views over rolling rural farmland with some spectacular sunsets which can best be viewed from the pool terrace and picnic areas. There is a generously sized (12x6m) heated and covered swimming pool. It's sliding domed cover allows swimming to continue outside the usual summer period (available from April to early November). Both have recently been fully re-painted.

English or French satellite TV is available in either of the houses. There are swings, a climbing frame, a slide, a football pitch and plenty of space for children to run around in. Games room with table tennis, exercise machine and darts. An ideal location for a relaxing family holiday.

3 bedroom barn conversion which has been completed to an extremely high standard and includes all the comforts of modern living. It is centrally heated and extremely comfortably furnished. The property has beautiful old beams in all the bedrooms with lovely chestnut wooden floors upstairs. Downstairs is tiled throughout with ceramic tiles and there is a lovely wooden staircase leading to the upper floor. It has a luxurious family bathroom with separate shower and on the ground floor there is a further shower room and toilet. This house also has it's own terrace area set under the trees with outdoor dining area and barbecue.

We spent a fabulous 2 weeks in this lovely property. The house was spacious, well equipped and maintained. The kids (7,9&17) loved the pool and the spacious grounds. This is our first visit to this area of France and we loved it. We had many trips around the area, the highlights being canoeing from Brantome, Bordeilles chateau, Bergerac and the monolithic church at Aubettere-sur-Dronne. Another highlight for my daughters was the daily trip before breakfast to the boulangerie in Mareuil(8km away) which was great. We enjoyed the rural setting of the property and were happy to drive to places. I would definitely recommend this property for a family holiday. Thanks Caroline and Guy for a great stay.

La Tour Blanche which has all of the necessary facilities (small shop, bar/restaurant, butcher, baker, doctor, garage, post office etc.) is only 3km. Small market on Wednesday mornings. Mareuil is 8km away having more facilities and a supermarket. Small market on Tuesday mornings.

Riberac with larger supermarkets and it's large and varied Friday market is about 20 km. Lac Jemaye, set in the forest with beautiful white sandy beaches, picnic areas, cafe/restaurants, canoeing etc is 30 km. To the east is the delightfully pretty riverside town of Brantome with it's prehistoric caves and ancient abbey built into the rocks. At 39 km there is Perigueux a delightful small city with beautiful medieval and Roman buildings, the old town is a particularly attractive place to stroll, shop and lunch.

Further afield is Bordeaux with it's magnificent shops and the wine country along the banks of the river Dordogne. There are many spectacular Chateaux all along the river banks.

Other Activities: Canoeing in a number of different locations.
