Carmel House Rental Photos and Description
House, 1 Bedroom + 1 Convertible bed, 1 Bath, (Sleeps 4 max in 2 beds)
Welcome to a home close to town, the beach & 17 mile dr. but yet far from the maddening crowds...
A unique property in a quiet area just north of the village of Carmel-by-the-Sea, 5 minutes walking to town, the white sand beach at the foot of Ocean Ave., or the Carmel gate for access to Pebble Beach & 17 Mile Dr.
Walk to AT&T Golf Tournament or the Concours D' Elegance, yet remain quiet, serene & tucked away when you return after a day of shopping, sightseeing or dining.
During the holidays enjoy the beautiful Christmas lights in town as you stroll home or the serenity of a quiet cool home in summer while the rest of Carmel is buzzing.
Each room is on a different floor, with the kitchen and living room with fireplace on the lower level, bathroom in between and the bedroom on the top floor. (Families with small walking children should consider the very steep stairs, interior & exterior drop-offs, uncovered pond & unfenced yard. The house would not be safe for a toddler.)
The kitchen with high end appliances and bathroom with its 6 foot cast iron tub for two, are nicely appointed with high end fixtures. High speed wi-fi throughout.
Access to the house is from both the upper and lower streets, so there is ample parking as well as covered parking for one car. The property sits perched above beautiful Pescadero Canyon which is filled with enormous redwood and pine trees that greet you upon entering the upper floor bedroom.
At night you can see the moon and stars twinkle through the trees while you lay in bed ~ magical!
Cozy, romantic and serene is the best way to describe it!
- wheelchair inaccessible
- non smoking only
- pets not allowed
- not suitable for children
- Minimum Age Limit for Renters
Guestbook comments from the owner
Redwoods... A lamp lit tiered garden, with a private deck, a little pond and ample parking. It is private, quiet, and built around its inhabitants. Our hosts had left us a bottle of wine etc. There is an open hearth fire... The town, north of Ventana national park is without question one of the more beautiful we've ever seen. The town has un-numbered houses and a bit difficult to find, but the difficulty only adds to the sense of privacy and quiet. We would certainly return there.

The special thing about the Carmel Treehouse is its proximity to the village, beach and 17 Mile Dr., yet still being far from crowds during high season. Being on a 'not a through street' (even though, wink wink, that is not truly the case..) stops traffic from coming through & creates a very peaceful setting.
