My family and I recently stayed here for a long weekend get away. We had such a wonderful time getting away from the cities where we live to this private retreat cabin.
The place is large enough to be comfortable for the five adults in our party and allowed us the comforts of home away from home (we were able to make most of our meals in the cabin, had separate bedrooms for the two couples and the one single, etc.). The road to the cabin was lots of fun to drive and the hike from the cabin was awesome. Middleburgh is a neat place to visit and the surrounding area had plenty of neat attractions to keep all of us entertained.
I'd highly recommend this to anyone looking for a place a little off the beaten path.
This is the 4th year that I have come up to the cabin. It is as advertised. If you are looking to get away from it all this is the place. Fred and Barb are terrific and are right there if you need anything. We are looking forward to our 5th year and hopefully many more after that.
I love this place. Nice huge cabin in a secluded area. My family and I stayed here for 4 days. Woke up to seeing wild turkeys in the backyard. Owner Barb was close when I needed her. She came to the rescue. She is literally down the road. Just a heads up there is no TV. I had no problem with it but the little ones asked. But I was enjoying the no television and signal. I was cut off from the world. In conclusion it was a very relaxing vacation. I will do it again. :)
My husband and I stayed on both Blue Cabin on the Summer and Green Cabin on the Fall. Great time away!!
Cabins was beautifully decorated, spacious, and full of decadent charm .It had everything we needed. The living room is a cozy retreat complete with fireplace that is great for lounging in after a day exploring. We very much appreciated the welcome upon arriving that included a number of options for dining and activities in the area.
We enjoyed hiking on the back of the Blue Cabin with our dog in the early morning. So peaceful!!
We also especially enjoyed the outdoor balcony space with grill for making dinner while being surrounded by the crisp air and beautiful view.
Barb and Fred are great hosts helping you with anything you may need, we highly recommend .
We are already planning our return trip, this time in the winter for skiing and snowmobiling. Thank you for sharing your lovely home away from home!

My friends and I have stayed here 7 times so far. We love how secluded it is. We love the escape from phones, internet, TV. We love the rustic atmosphere, but with the necessary creature comforts. We plan to continue renting this cabin several times a year. Don't forget to buy some beef from Fred & Barb, the owners!
Our cabins offer the best of both worlds...you can be totally isolated from the 'outside world's' hustle & bustle or you can get totally involved if you choose. There are music festivals, operas, downhome country fairs, farm roadside markets, quaint shops and a wealth of other avenues to explore. Our village was settled in 1712 and offers abundant history of the Revolution of our great nation. On the northern edge of the Catskill Mountains in New York's Leatherstocking Region, we are only two and a half hours from New York City, forty-five minutes from Albany, an hour from Cooperstown and just a short drive from many attractions to interest all visitors.
Other Activities: cave exploring, historic museums, quaint shops, miniature golf, go-kart racing
Golf: There is a lovely golf course in Cobleskill, only 11 miles from the cabin and another one in Greenville, just a 30 minute drive from us. There is a wonderful miniature golf course and go-cart racing at Gobbler's Knob just 15 minutes away
