Come join us on pristine Cathance Lake. Cathance is a Class A salmon lake, providing excellent fishing and swimming. Canoe and Kayak rentals are available in town. Our Victorian Cottage is located 40' from shore. Watch the fish swim by from your bedroom window. Rest and relax next to the gas fired 'wood' stove. Enjoy an evening by the campfire listening to the call of the Loons. Lush perennial gardens attract an assortment of wildlife.

Things to Do: Enjoy fishing, swiming, boating.Whale Watches, hiking and ATVing. Take a boat trip to see the seals and Puffins. Stroll the beautiful gardens in St. Andrews. Visit antique shops, fairs and festivals or relax at the cottage and enjoy the lake.

Nearest Motorway : Rt. 191 at 1 Miles

The cottage is actually located in Cathance Twp, Cooper being the closest town. The mailing address is Meddybemps. Cooper is located approximately 30 min. from Calais and Machias. This area provides easy access to the ocean at Rouge Bluff State Park, trips to Machias Seal Island to see the Puffins or the 4th of July Lobster boat races inn Jonesport. At The Machias Blueberry Festival in August you can find wonderful Maine Made Crafts. Traveling in the opposite direction will take you to the quaint fishing village of Lubec. Cross the bridge to Campobello Island and visit the summer home of Franklin Roosevelt. Take a ride to Eastport and visit the shops and galleries or have a lobster dinner. Cross the border at Calais and visit St. Stephen (Chocolate Town) or travel on to St. Andrews for a walk down Main St. to shop the gift shops and galleries there while enjoying the harbor views.

Situated on a beautiful and clean lake, this updated cottage has all the comforts of home. Fully equipped with enough space for our family of four, it was comfortable even on a couple of rainy days we had during our stay. Much to do, swimming, snorkeling, fishing, boating, and lots of points of interest within an hour drive. Highly recommended.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway
