Manistee Vacation Rental house

i stayed at this little place for a week as part of a birthday getaway/walk down memory lane in the fall, as i had not been to manistee in about 40 years. initially, when i drove up i thought that i had made a big mistake because frankly the "yard" looked a little too "au natural" as in wild and woolly and the house is set into a hillside which made it look like a little brown bunker from the back. i even called the realtor to make sure i was at the right place! as i trepidatiously opened the front door, i couldn't believe what i found - an absolutely beautiful modern interior that completey belied the exterior!! a top of the line kitchen - beautifully done, open main room with flat screen plasma t.v. and windows to the backyard with a view of lake michigan through the trees, cute little bedrooms on either end of the main room and of course a bathroom. all quite clean and just lovely. the wooden deck and stairs leading down to the lake - perfect - tho there are quite a few stairs. everything looked new or nearly so, and somebody surely has an eye for interior design. i loved it and plan on going back next year! i suppose my only critique (other than what it looks like when you first drive up to it) would be that at least for fall renters - the addition of a rug or two might warm it up a bit!! otherwise it's adorable and has a lovely view of the lake. a real diamond in the rough as they say.
