Folly Beach Vacation Rental house

We enjoyed our stay at the Robin's nest overall. My overall first impression was clean and spacious. The deck was a nice place to relax, and the kitchen was huge! We cooked quite a bit while visiting. There was also a grill we were able to use. The upstairs family room/game area was also a lot of fun. The only problem we had was the downstairs air-conditioning was not working properly. It was very uncomfortable during hot days and hard to sleep at night. The upstairs felt like a freezer on the other hand. We called the property management 3 times over the problem and finally gave up. I just feel that for the amount of money we paid, it should have been more comfortable. I also thought the property management should have been more professional about the issue and followed up with us about the problem. They just kept saying they would send someone out, but never followed up. Also it might not be a good place for people who can't climb stairs because the only way we found to get in was by climbing several stairs.

Robin's nest is a nice surprise after driving or walking down the street with some shabby properties nearby (but nothing dangerous looking). The house was clean and pictures provided are accurate. The AC works very well and provides a nice respite from August heat in SC. The deck is a great escape from the bugs and very comfortable.
Layout of the house is odd with only the upstairs providing any 'living room'. That is a great bunk house and play room for the kids but grownups in our party did not use that much except for the occassion ping pong challenge.
The kitchen is reasonably well equipped but cookware is of poor quality and very few larger bowls etc for a group of 10. The ice maker barely worked and bin never filled properly.
Location is great for Folley. Easy walk to downtown bars and restaurants and quick 4 blocks directly to beach (5 min).
Two major negatives: the barbeque was rotted out and completely non-functional. I requested a substitute / replacement at the rental firm and they said they would try to get authorization to replace form the owners but I never heard back and we were stuck with no BBQ.
Worse yet, the drains all backed up one afternoon because the septic tank was completely full. The rental firm maintenance man diagnosed the problem without coming to the house which indicates that he was aware of the issue and decided to simply wait until sewage was running out on the bathroom floors before doing anything about it. Upon complaint, the rental firm did offer to have someone come in 'a few hours' to clean up but that was not practical so you-know-who got to deal with that. The septic guy came and emptied the tank (lovely smell) and also unclogged the lines (more sewage on floors) within a couple of hours.
S*%$ happens. If the owner and firm were a little more proactive however, this would have been a great review. As it is, I would probably not return to this property.

My wife and I along with 3 other couples headed to Folly Beach for the first time. This was a great house for us as it was a nice walk from the beach and was situated on a quiet street. We loved the game room/living room upstairs playing darts, pool, and group games. It was a perfect sized kitchen and dining area to have 8 people giving their inputs on how the food should be made. We enjoyed the large screened in porch on the front of the house as well taking turns at the great hammock that was there. The A/C worked great and kept the house cool when coming back from those hot days.

The men headed out for golf one day and didn't have to drive too far to a reasonable course (Shadowmoss). We also took a day trip to Charleston and enjoyed only having a short journey to such history.

All in all great stay...the only downsides were that one of the full baths is in the room with the king bed so 3 couples had to share the other one and there were good ole palmetto bugs found here and there.
