Wonderful get-away

Holly House is delightful. We could have spent the entire vacation lounging on the deck, listening to the chorus of birds and frogs, savoring the scent of honeysuckle and salt air. But we also did a lot of biking, paddling in Quicksand pond (bring your own canoe or kayak), and visiting the beaches of Little Compton and Westport. We also enjoyed wandering around the property, visiting the horses, and admiring the owner's lovely horse farm.
The house is sensibly laid out and the kitchen is well equipped. With four bedrooms, it could handle a large family -- in our case, it was easy to manage several rounds of visits by the children and grandchildren (having a dishwasher & washer/dryer makes everything so much easier).
The owners were charming and helpful -- they have compiled a notebook with maps, recommendations for local attractions and dining, and a collection of menus (we mostly just bought fresh fish which we cooked on the grill).
Minor quibble: although there is cable TV, there is no radio or stereo -- bring one if that is important.
