To enjoy your vacation you need a very special place: Oceanfront, beautiful sunsets, seals sunbathing on the rocks. Bring your fishing gear and canoe and all of this is yours right out of your beautiful cottage. Large open great room with 20 feet of glass leading to a deck to enjoy a panoramic view of all the above and Blue Hill mountain. New furnishings including leather sectional with sleep sofa and recliners. Kitchen is equipped with jenn-air cooktop. Relax in front of the woodstove when the weather gets chilly. Two bedrooms upstairs with views of the ocean as well.

Nearest Airport: Bangor at 25 Miles
Nearest Ferry: Bar Harbor at 18 Miles
Nearest Train: Portland at 30 Miles
Nearest Beach: beach at 30.0 Metres

Walk from your deck to the beach. You can swim, fish or kayak right in front of the cottage. Large yard to play frisbee or croquet. Hammock, picnic table and grill are ready for your use. Travel 20 minutes to visit scenic Bar Harbor. Shop in the many quaint boutiques. Enjoy some very fine dining. Take a scenic boat tour or go whale watching. Visit Acadia National Park for the day. There you can visit the beach, bike ride on the carriage trails, go horseback riding, hike, or drive to the top of Cadillac mountain. Ellsworth, the retail shopping area is only 5 miles away.

We have been staying at this property for 2 weeks every year for 5 years in a row now. We love everything about this property from the great location close to shopping areas and attractions, glimpses of sealife at your back door with the ocean only a few feet away from your deck, the lovely rental home with all the amenities of home, and great guest relations with the property owners. We highly recommend this as a great choice for a top notch vacation!

I recently stayed in this rental for 3 weeks. During this time the owner arrived to stay in his apartment over the garage and had no idea who we were, and the fact we had animals. I would have forgiven this if I had used an agency, but I emailed this individual on several occasions concerning the details of my trip. Charged me for linens out of my deposit, even through it clearly states linens included in rental details. He stated I had received a special rate. Yes, I did for renting it for 3 weeks, not for using my own linen. The owners also allow smoking in the home, not mentioned in the information on the home. The location is the one high point with this house. Very close to Acadia Park and right on the water.
Owner's Response: We have been renting our properties for years with no negative feedback, this is a shame, After the guest called looking for a reduced rate we accomodated the request with the agreement that they were to supply thier own linens for this option. This was not complied with,hence the charge. As for smoking, we do not allow it in our properties at all. This is a beautiful property and home and we have always had only the utmost praise and compliments on our services and hospitality.

charming, secluded chalet on the ocean

We enjoyed this charming, secluded chalet just feet away from the ocean on the bay. The owners have thought of all the amenities -- except for a lobster pot. The stairs to the two bedrooms on the second level are steep and not ideal for elderly or physically limited people, but the sleep sofa on the first level is comfortable for those who don't want to attempt the stairs. A delightful experience!
