Photos and Description of the Acton vacation chalet rental
- 3 BR, 1 BA, Sleeps 6.

The chalet faces south on a grassy 1/2 acre lot with 135 ft. of waterfront on Horn Pond. Trees on either side make the setting private with views across the lake towards the tree-lined hills of New Hampshire. The lake is a favorite with local fishermen. The lake is also perfect for water-skiing, tubing or kayaking. The U-shaped dock and float make boating and swimming easy and fun. The two-level house is comfortably furnished, with knotty pine throughout . Kitchen/dining area has lake views and is equipped with coffee machine, dishwasher, microwave, etc. Walk-out family room with lake views has gas fireplace for cool evenings. 2 bedrooms have double beds, one has bunks. Washing machine and dryer on lower level. Convenient outdoor hot-water shower. Enjoy wonderful views of the lake and listen to the call of the loons at night from the wide screen porch and large adjacent deck. Lots of garden/deck furniture make entertaining fun. Firepit for cool evenings and 'smores grilling.

Southwest Maine is a scenic area only 1 1/2 hrs. from Boston and 45 mins. from Portland, ME, and Portsmouth, NH. It offers both mountains and lakes, as well as coastal beaches and the charm of historic towns like York, Ogunquit and Portsmouth. Enjoy fine shopping and lobster dinners in Kennebunkport or outlet shopping in tax-free North Conway (45 mins. north), Kitttery, ME, (45 mins. south) and Freeport, ME, home of LLBean (1 hr. north) . Head north into the White Mountains for great hiking, south-east to the beautiful beaches of Ogunquit and Wells, or west to the attractions of Lake Winnepesaukee.

We couldn't have had a more lovely time...your home is just the perfect blend of simplicity and quaint. From the singing loons to the lapping of the water, to the peepers in the night, we enjoyed all that was still. Great comfy beds! That never happens! We couldn't have enjoyed the kayaks, the dock with the pretty red chairs and the calm of your screened-in porch more. It was all simply delicious!

We enjoyed every moment as did those family and friends that we were able to host for swims, fishing, dinner or a coveted bonfire and s'mores night and sleepover!

Very relaxing week!

We enjoyed a very relaxing week! What a lovely spot you have. The girls loved playing on the floating dock and catching fish with the net in the rocky shallows. We explored all around the pond in the kayaks and canoe and loved discovering the sandy beach across the way. The screen porch, where we sit as I write, offers the perfect setting for reading, puzzling, and enjoyingi hte neighbors' fireworks. The Independence Day Boat Parade was the perfect way to celebrate the holiday! An unexpected mid-week surprise that we all loved. Thank you for sharing your home.
