Enjoy magnificent sunrises over Prout's Neck and fireworks every Thursday evening. Located on large and beautiful seven mile sandy beach. The main pier in Old Orchard Beach is only a one mile stroll in one direction and a two mile walk in the other direction leads you to Pine Point Beach and 'Ferry Beach' in Scarborough. Whether your dream vacation involves collecting shells, sunbathing or watching the seals play in the waves, it all awaits you at 40 Wavelet! The sand castles and sand dollars are waiting!

Old Orchard/Pine Point is located 30 minutes to beautiful and historic Old Port (Portland Maine) where you will find many, many restaurants, galleries, art museums, children's museum, boutiques, theaters, festivals, music,famous lighthouses and parks, home of The Sea Dogs! (Red Sox). It is a quaint little city with many offerings. We love it!! You are also located only 30 minutes to famous Kennebunk Port Village (summer home to President Bush) where you find a quaint little village with shops, restaurants, etc... Also, Oqunquit, Wells and York and Freeport are all a very short drive away! More awesome towns to visit. Kittery outlets and Freeport outlets are another must visit if you like to shop! Home of LL Bean! We are a short drive to the many fantastic lakes in Maine! ie.Sebago Lake, Mousam,etc.. The immediate location has a great deal to do with kids. water parks, amusements, parks, etc.... A great place to vacation and something for everyone in your family.

Things to do: Scarborough Marsh Nature Center is a short distant away, offering canoe and kayak rentals for exploring the picturesque marshes and bird watching. There are also walking trails and guided tours. Within a 30 minute drive, is Funtown and Splashtown, great family water fun. The Old Port in Portland offers numerous restaurants, children's museums, galleries and arts museums. Fun day trips include ferry cruises around Portland harbor to a variety of islands with their unique appeal. You might be lucky enough to see whales and seals in their natural environment. Portland is home to 'The Sea Dogs,' the Boston Red Sox minor league team. Water skiing and golf are also great ways to relax. You may choose to visit Kennebunkport, a rustic seacoast village with a variety of charming shops or drive through the White Mountains in nearby New Hampshire.

Of course, no visit to Maine would be complete without a trip to L.L. Bean in Freeport, open 24 hours. Be sure to bring your hiking boots, your bathing suit, your bicycle and your appetite. The seafood is extraordinary and plentiful! You will not be disappointed in a visit to Maine in any season!

The location was perfect, but the accomadations were disappointing. The refridgerator handle was sticky and greasy, the washer and dryer didn't work well--- we ended up using the laundromat in town. But most importantly, we were without hot water for a day and a half, because the owner let the oil that heats the water run dry. Not cool to be unable to shower our children after a full day at the beach. When water dripped from the bathroom ceiling from upstairs onto my son and I, we called the owners and asked for the money for the remainder of our trip to be refunded, as we were leaving. However, the owner firmly stated he was not willing to do that. Granted, he had a plumber come in to look at the leaky bathroom ceiling, and had the oil replaced, but in the end, we were incredibly disappointed to spend around $2000 on this rental, and not have any reimbursment (or even an apology) for what we experienced.

Oh, and the painted-over duct tape used to patch the water-damaged crown molding in the bedroom? Charming.

Like I said, the location is great, but the maintenance of the property and the quality of the customer service left something to be desired. If these two issues could be resolved, we'd be happy to go back. In the meantime, next time, we plan on staying at the beautiful, clean and similarly priced hotel next door to this rental.

I would like to say that this stay was excellent!! The apartment is very well maintained and spotless. All the folks staying at the same place at the same time were all very nice.
There are charcoal grills and a picnic table, even on our second floor apt.

I have recomeneded this spot to friends.

The only problem we saw was, the parking. We were lucky enough to be able to park our truck at another site we used to stay at. My car fit nicely at the apt.
