Muskegon Vacation Rental house

Was the description accurate regarding the location, layout, amenities, etc.? Yes, it was fairly close to Michigan Adventures

Was the property clean, well-maintained, etc.? No

We arrived on a Friday and was suppose to stay until Sunday when we first got there, the house was dirty we had to wipe all the tables down and door handles, clean the complete bathroom, sweep, vaccuum and wash all the bed linens (because we didn't know if they were clean and didn't want to take that chance). also we even cleaned the wall upstairs (I have a picture to prove this)

Also, the stairs were completely unsafe for children. My child fell down them because they were to steep and narrow and had weak spots.

We moved the chair in the living room to sleep all the children in our party due to bad stairs and the chair legs were broken and was just put back in the holes for support.

We arrived with a strainer full of dishes that weren't put away, also in the kitchen there were a bag rotten potatoes under the microwave stand, the frige was unlevel and rocked everytime you tried to open it.

After we cleaned the house we slept there on Friday night, then Saturday rolled around and everyone took showers and thats when the Hot Water Heater started smoking, I Immediately called the owners and she sent someone right down to the house to look at it. However we felt very unsafe by not knowing if the guy she sent to fix the hot water heater was ceritfided to do so, the guy didn't introduce himself and wore street clothes. The house had a burnt smell after this incident This made our decision to find a local hotel easy for that night. Because of our decision the owner denied a partial refund. We did receive our deposit back.


However There were a couple pluses about this property:
The back yard was fenced in and a good size for kids to play. And also There was plenty of parking for vehicles, and the 2 car garage was nice.

This house was very outdated and Not well maintained for a vacation rental property.

Our party would not recommend this rental unit.
