West Tisbury Vacation Rental house

My husband and I go go go 24-7. We decided to vacation in Martha’s Vineyard, instead of taking a flight to a more distant locale that would probably end up adding to our frazzle. Well it was the right decision.

This cozy and calm MV house was indeed a relaxing spot to come home to after a day at the beach! The cathedral celling is dotted with two(or three?) skylights. The main rooms, which are open living space, have big long windows that run from the high cathedral ceiling down to the floor. The windows face south and look out into a kind of oak forest. Over the first few days the outside insidiously crept inside via those windows and really renewed our love of trees, green and that clean blue New England sky. At cocktail hour we sat on the front porch and watched the sun lower over a row of pine trees. In the morning we had our coffee on the east side porch and enjoyed the morning sun.

The place has a sleeping (a futon) loft with a great mini- library. There’s a bedroom with a queen-sized bed and another bedroom with twin beds. Our twenty year old daughter visited for a few days with two friends. Plenty of space for us all.

No internet....at first I was hesitant. But let me tell you, it was a blessing! (Plus, if you’re desperate you can hook into the phone line or go to the West Tisbury Library, which is walking distance--about 20 minutes

Of course it's an easy drive to the library. You can park your car there, too, and walk over to the general store. On Saturday there's a famous farmer's market. Can you believe I saw Carly Simon buying tomatoes?!
