Great 5 bedroom villa in Carces that sleeps 12. A backdrop of vines, olive groves and woodland creates the quintessential Provençal setting for Château des Vignes, a stunning family home which has recently been transformed into a stylish and relaxing place to stay. Approached by way of a country lane that meanders past the owners vineyards, the entrance is through a wrought iron gate into the front courtyard where a stone fountain and greenery evoke a tranquil atmosphere.

Steps lead up to the entrance hall where the original tiled floor, a high ceiling decorated in frescos and a double staircase set the scene.

The transformation of the interior has been a labour of love for the owners, who have retained the charm of the ancient building and infused it with modern touches, creating rooms that are effortlessly stylish.

The ground floor is given over to the living and dining areas. The spacious rooms exude grandeur with beautiful painted ceilings and tall windows that overlook the garden. In the salon, plump sofas in neutral tones are an invitation to relax whilst watching TV or enjoying after dinner conversation.

Tastefully furnished, the dining room leads into the well equipped kitchen, which in turn leads out to the rear terrace. A sophisticated finishing touch is the bar, a delightful room where you can gather for an aperitif before dinner.

On the first floor, the bedrooms are decorated in an elegant palette of colours, with coordinated fabrics and a vintage mix of furniture adding panache. All the rooms have their own en suite facilities, each one individually designed to complement its bedroom.

An alfresco dining area and the large garden are found to the rear of the house, where there is plenty of space for children to play. Mature trees dot the grounds and create pockets of dappled shade whilst a sunken stone basin is an unusual feature. Follow the path around the house to the side and you come to the pool which sits in its own enclosed area, accessed by a gate.

Careful thought has been given to the design of the pool: its colours reflect the surrounding olive trees whilst at one end, there is a shallow plague or beach area for young children. Modern black sun loungers add a chic touch.

Its countryside setting and beautiful interior will ensure you spend most of your time at Château des Vignes. However, the village of Carcès is only 3km away and is an attractive bustling place with shops and restaurants. The nearby Lac de Carcès is a picturesque place for a walk, with further walks and sporting activities available at the Gorges du Verdon.
