About Wendy Kusler owner

Wendy Kusler has been renting two vacation rentals for over 8 years. She offers extensive knowledge of the Mackinaw area, prompt response and attention to every detail inside the homes.

Wendy Kusler owner purchased this cottage in 2005

Why Wendy Kusler owner chose St Ignace

There are so many things to see and do in this area. Pictured rocks, Tahquemenon Falls, Whitefish Point, Mackinaw Island, ThunderFalls waterpark, casino, snowmobiling, skiing, Lake Michigan. Most of all, I love the lake. Brevort Lake is an all sports lake with great fishing, boating and touring

What makes this cottage unique

I love sitting on the deck in the morning and drinking coffee. It is so relaxing. The bald eagle often flies over, ducks come in for visits and we see plenty of deer. The house is decorated for a comfortable feel to all who visit. When trails are open, I can hop on snowmobile and ride to hundreds of miles of trails. My favorite loop is to ride the lake to 123, go to Trout lake for lunch and head back through the woods to Brevort Lake Campground and back home.

Guestbook comments from the owner

Beautiful, clean new log cabin. Brand new everything, aplliances , dishes, etc. Well stocked, barbeque, paddle boat, beach chairs.....everything you could think of. If you desire this area, you won't find a classier place. Of all the places we have rented, this one was the nicest.

Wonderful home!

  • 5 of 5

My husband and I booked this rental for our "First Annual" couples snowmobile trip - and this place was perfect! We had 6 people total and it was the perfect house for our trip.

Everything was clearly covered and ready for us when we arrived, firewood next to the fireplace and everything. Since we had a large amount of snowmobile gear to bring, it was very nice to have everything else we could possibly want already in the house. The decor was beautiful which gave a nice "Northern Michigan" feel. The beds were very nice, they even had flannel sheets which was perfect after a cold day of snowmobiling. Easy access to the trails and Moran gas station is very close by for necessities.

There were many additional touches that I did not expect - a large variety of movies, books, games, local maps, and menu's. The kitchen had plenty of "misc" items such as spices, cookie sheets, even a crock pot which was also unexpected. We had a fantastic trip and hope we can return to this home again either in the summer or next year's snowmobile trip.

Thank you Wendy, what a great experience!

Excellent place to stay. Perfect fit for our family of outdoor adventurists. Cross country skiing from the backdoor but close to snow and trails. Tubing just a short travel. This is a BEAUTIFUL home - complete with every ammenity. The perfect vacation getaway - close to everything we wanted to see and do. As another reviewer says this is the perfect home for a family gathering. Plenty of sleeping space, spacious kitchen, plentiful seating at the large dining table. The owner is terrific to work with and was attentive to every concern. We arrived to find the home sparkling - inviting us to come in and enjoy. Fantastic find - we hope to return again soon!

Just Perfect!

Our family isn't large, but it had been nearly two years since grandparents, kids and grandkids had all been together at one time, (ages 20 months to 60 years). We selected this home for our long Memorial Weekend gathering and it couldn't have been any better. The weather was sunny and warm the entire time we were there. The home is perfectly designed to accommodate a group of families - a large master with private bath downstairs, two large bedrooms and a bath up. One of the upper bedrooms has a queen and two doubles, the other, a queen and two singles.

The log home is beautiful inside with an extremely well-equipped kitchen, a table large enough for a big group and a generously sized living room, with three big comfy sofas. The laundry room is a bonus!

The view of the lake from inside and out on the large deck is stunning. There is a nice lawn with a great hammock and room for games. Down a few stone steps is the lakeshore. We loved the new fire pit - perfect for s'mores. While sitting around the fire one night, a large snowy owl perched on the wood swing just a few yards away. There is enough sand to keep the tiniest tots happy and the long pier is perfect for watching the resident swan and ducks. We all enjoyed a lot of time in the canoe and kayaks, exploring the lake and river. The lake is clean and shallow for a long way out, so we were comfortable letting our 9, 10, and 12 year olds man their 'own' kayaks, (with life jackets and an adult along in a canoe), when the lake was calm. The girls couldn't resist swimming one day, even though the water was chilly! We had a professional photographer come to the home for family photos one day. There are several areas on the property that make a perfect backdrop for outside pictures.

It's a short drive to St. Ignace to catch the ferry to Mackinac Island. We spent one day on the island and had a great time, but were very happy to spend all of our remaining time at this home.

Wendy was responsive and easy to work with; she provides all the info you need to arrive equipped to enjoy your time there. You don't need to bring much other than food - this home has everything. You will want to heed her advice to bring extra TP if you have girls in the group, and we hadn't brought a yard fogger or bug spray thinking it was too early in the season for bugs. It wasn't. One other thing I would bring next time is disposable plastic tablecloths; it would save laundering a tablecloth daily.

Great home!
