LAKEFRONT LOGHOME SLEEPS 10-12 KAYAKS, CANOE, FIREPIT NEAR MACKINAW

Our family isn't large, but it had been nearly two years since grandparents, kids and grandkids had all been together at one time, (ages 20 months to 60 years). We selected this home for our long Memorial Weekend gathering and it couldn't have been any better. The weather was sunny and warm the entire time we were there. The home is perfectly designed to accommodate a group of families - a large master with private bath downstairs, two large bedrooms and a bath up. One of the upper bedrooms has a queen and two doubles, the other, a queen and two singles.

The log home is beautiful inside with an extremely well-equipped kitchen, a table large enough for a big group and a generously sized living room, with three big comfy sofas. The laundry room is a bonus!

The view of the lake from inside and out on the large deck is stunning. There is a nice lawn with a great hammock and room for games. Down a few stone steps is the lakeshore. We loved the new fire pit - perfect for s'mores. While sitting around the fire one night, a large snowy owl perched on the wood swing just a few yards away. There is enough sand to keep the tiniest tots happy and the long pier is perfect for watching the resident swan and ducks. We all enjoyed a lot of time in the canoe and kayaks, exploring the lake and river. The lake is clean and shallow for a long way out, so we were comfortable letting our 9, 10, and 12 year olds man their 'own' kayaks, (with life jackets and an adult along in a canoe), when the lake was calm. The girls couldn't resist swimming one day, even though the water was chilly! We had a professional photographer come to the home for family photos one day. There are several areas on the property that make a perfect backdrop for outside pictures.

It's a short drive to St. Ignace to catch the ferry to Mackinac Island. We spent one day on the island and had a great time, but were very happy to spend all of our remaining time at this home.

Wendy was responsive and easy to work with; she provides all the info you need to arrive equipped to enjoy your time there. You don't need to bring much other than food - this home has everything. You will want to heed her advice to bring extra TP if you have girls in the group, and we hadn't brought a yard fogger or bug spray thinking it was too early in the season for bugs. It wasn't. One other thing I would bring next time is disposable plastic tablecloths; it would save laundering a tablecloth daily.

Thank you very much for allowing us to stay at your residence. The cabin was very neat and clean. We had a blast and were hoping to get some very snowy days, which unfortunately did not happen. The area is very peaceful and quiet. The ammenities inside were all functional and clean. The description of the cabin was accurate. The owner provided very good customer service and the handouts at the cabin were helpful in finding other activities to do. I would definitely recommend this property to friends and relatives and are planning to come back. Not much going on when we went, and were just looking for some peace and relaxation, which we got!

From the moment we walked in we knew we had chosen the right place to celebrate the Thanksgiving holiday. The home is beautiful. Very well equipped with everything one would need. Everything was labeled from light switches to electronics. Owner supplied a listing of local restaurants and activities as well as trails for snowmobiling in the winter months. The home is immaculate inside and out. It is located on a beautiful lake in a great area close to everything you need. We are anxious to stay during the summer months and chill out on the beach and beautiful deck. Very serene and secluded. The only thing one has to bring are personal belongings. Best vacation rental by far. The owner has outdid herself with this property. Highly recommended. It is truly a home away from home.
