Located on beautiful Silver Lake with all its islands and coves to explore. Only 5 minutes from the heart of Traverse City, and the breath-taking Grand Traverse Bays. One mile from the Crown golf course and only 4 miles from shopping at the Grand Traverse Mall. This sunny summer home has hard wood maple floors, tile foyer, gas fireplace, and washer and dryer. There is a recreation room with a ping pong table for those family tournaments in finished walkout basement. There is a large wrap around deck, yard level to the sandy beach with no steps to beach. Expansive water views. Washer and dryer.

Loved the cottage. Very clean and comfortable. Liked having the window A/C units available for the few days we needed them. Backyard was ideal. Lots of grassy space for fun and shade areas for relaxing. Plenty of beach chairs and 2 lounge chairs for sunbathing. You really can't swim off the beach though b/c water was very silty and gross. Easy to solve by using the various boats provided to go to the very near by sandbar. Once off the shoreline, lake water was very clean & clear for swimming and "noddling". The motor on the small boat did not work and we never found the pingpong table. Regardless, it was a great week and Mary & Len were very nice & helpful.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Girls Getaway, Tourists without a Car, Families with Teenagers
Owner's Response: Our guest are always the most considerate and family friendly folks anywhere! We appreciate their care of the house and understanding of the seasonal issues that affect the lake level. A modest winter snowfall and an unusually hot dry summer season has caused the water table to receed exposing our sandy swimming area and inching closer to the softer organic silt. A little beach grooming and a load of sand in the spring brings manmade changes and improvements so we can keep up with "Mother Nature".
Hope for lots of Northen Michigan snow this winter....yuck !

P.S. the ping pong table died an untimely death from some over aggresive "beer pong".

Great Family Place!

We loved the location of the property. Very close to downtown Traverse City. Great affordable Golf Course just down the road as well. The cottage was nice and clean. The Master bedroom was nice and spacious. The three bedrooms up stairs were a little snug, but worked out fine for what we needed. The lake was great (4 miles long approx.) with fish biting and sand bars for the kids to play on. The owners were very friendly people and offered any assistance needed. I highly recommend this place to rent for a week! Also, Mary and Len know some people on the lake that will rent a pontoon boat for the week!
Recommended for:  Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children

Silver Lake getaway

We loved it....every minute. We walked in and felt RIGHT at home. She had linens, fresh flowers, nearly everything we had at home. There is no internet and no tv but that was what we wanted and the week was very relaxing. It's just minutes from Traverse City. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. It was SQUEAKY CLEAN!!!!
Recommended for:  Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers
Owner's Response: Our vacationers are so busy having a good time they must have not need to use or notice them but there are 3 TVs, living room, downstairs gameroom and master bedroom Thanks for writing a review and we have the nicest guest anywhere!!!
