The apartment is located in a typical Venetian building in the Rialto area, with a small courtyard and an exterior staircase that leads to the upper floors. The apartment is located on the second floor. The apartment is approximately 60 square meters and has an entryway, a living room with a comfortable couch-bed for two people, a bedroom with a double bed, a smaller bedroom with a single bed, bathroom and kitchen. It is a comfortable and warm home, recently remodeled, with lots of light and parquet floors. It has autonomous heating, fan ceiling, washing machine, refrigerator, gas stove and oven, television with video recorder, hair dryer, steam iron. You will find everything you’ll need for an easy morning following your arrival, with the minimum necessary for a Continental breakfast in the kitchen and sheets and towels provided for your convenience. The eat in kitchen is complete with pots, pans, silverware, plates, cups and glasses and everything necessary to cook and eat with ease.

The owners.: Our names are Veronica and Gilberto. We live in Venice, just around the corner from Casa Veronica. Gilberto is an architect and teaches art history. Veronica works at the Ca' Foscari University in Venice. We have 3 daughters Gaia, Matilde and Isotta (born in September 2007).

The owner of the house was the husband of Veronica’s mother, Daniela. Daniela lives on the Lido, a narrow, green island lined with beaches across the Venice lagoon, separating it from the Adriatic sea. The apartment was rented for several years by a friend, but we have now decided to rent it for short periods. As such, we also have the opportunity to participate in home exchanges. Casa Veronica is in the heart of the Rialto section of Venice, one of the most ancient and characteristic areas of the city, with its world famous Rialto Bridge.

You will be enchanted by the Rialto outdoor market, which takes place every morning on the banks of the Grand Canal (3 minutes walk). The area is a coloured mix of street stalls with tourist wares, fish, flowers, fruit and vegetables, and shops selling bread and pastries, meats, fresh pasta, cheese and Italy’s renowned prosciutto. Small “bacari”, typical Venetian taverns selling wine and snacks, and homey restaurants (trattorie) line the streets. Our apartment provides a true Venetian experience. Major tourist attractions are easily reached by foot (Piazza San Marco, 15 minutes; Campo San Polo, 5 minutes; Basilica and Campo dei Frari, 8 minutes; the less noted but beautiful Campo San Giacomo dell’Orio with its ancient church, 5 minutes). The closest vaporetto (ferry) stop on the Canal Grande is four minutes by foot.

We have also thought to provide videocassettes with classical films (including children’s films) for a quiet evening at home. The walls of the house have been painted with ecological and non-toxic products. The mattresses, pillows, blankets and quilts are all in hypo-allergenic materials; curtains, sheets and towels are in natural fibers. We have chosen long-lasting, energy-saving light bulbs. Great Apartment in the heart of Venice

Casa Veronica was recommended to us by a friend and we would definately stay there again! We stayed for 3 nights in early January and it was everything we needed!
Dealing with Veronica by email was very easy as was meeting her upon our arrival in Venice. We really appreciated being able to check in early and check out late to accommodate our flight times. Obviously this perk is dependent on other bookings, but Veronica is able to provide details about a left luggage store in town if this is not possible.
The apartment is well located, light and airy, very clean, tastefully furnished, and the biscuits and fruit on arrival were a nice touch!. One daughetr slept on the sofa bed - she said it was very comfortable.
Veronica was a wealth of information about things to see and do in Venice, where to eat, how to get around etc etc. The apartment is on the first floor (no lift), but we did not find this a problem.
Wish we had stayed longer! This was one of the three best apartments we stayed in throughout Europe! Loved it!!

Perfect Holiday Vacation

My husband and I wanted to take our girls (19 yrs old & 12) on a dream holiday vacation, our stay exceeded all expectations. Having never used VRBO overseas I was a little hesitant but once we decided on Casa Veronica communicating with Veronica made me feel very comfortable with my decision. She patiently answered all my questions and took care of us from beginning to end. This was not only an easy process but the apartment itself was perfect for us. Our family really wanted to experience living near the locals if even only for a few days, the apartment and location were perfect. My concerns prior to arriving in Venice were will someone be available to help us if problems should arise and will they speak English. This was a nonissue as we had no problems with the apartment, again it was perfect. Veronica made sure we were taken care of from beginning to end. We did have questions on arranging a water taxi as our flight was early in the morning, Laura (Veronica's property manager i think) arranged everything all we had to do was call her and she took care of it. I could go on and on but to summarize Veronica was great, the apartment and location were perfect. Thanks Veronica for making it possible for our family to have a perfect Italian vacation. Gina

Magnifique séjour à la Casa Veronica

Nous avons passé 5 jours merveilleux à Venise. Nous étions une famille de 5 personnes: un couple avec 2 enfants (9 et 15 ans) et une grand-mère de 73 ans. Le contact avec Veronica avant le séjour fut excellent. Elle a été très arrangeante pour les horaires d'arrivée et de départ. L'appartement est très décoré avec goût dans une très jolie maison avec un magnifique escalier. Il est parfaitement situé même si nous avons parfois tourné en rond pour retrouver la rue mais se perdre fait partie du charme de Venise ! Nous le recommandons chaleureusement. Yves et Ariane

lovely apartment

we really enjoyed our stay, the apartment is large and even prettier than in the photos. The area was lovely, very easy to get around and out of the busy areas enough that we felt we were in a real community. One square about 5-10 minutes away was a regular evening destination where we watched children play and families hang out. Everything was very comfortable. We appreciated the guide books available, the TV for the euro cup games, the washing machine and the breakfast awaiting us after a long day of travel. There is a grocery store close by that is very handy for feeding a family. thank you!

Comfortable, reasonable, well-located Casa Veronic

My husband and I felt so lucky to have found Casa Veronica and to have it to come home to for 6 nights in Santa Croce in Venice. Owner/managers very helpful. Lovely walk to vaporetto of San Stae, also close to the Frari and the Scuolo di San Rocco in San Polo. Liked MuroVenezia cafes nearby. CV recommended to us by friends, we would also recommend. Nice to have a washing machine and clothes line, too. Thank you, Veronica, we loved Venice!
