TUSCAN VILLA WITH GREAT VIEWS, PRIVATE POOL AND OUTDOOR SPACE WITH PRIVACY

Lari Villa Rental Photos and Description

Amazing Villa in Tuscany, luminous and gorgious with counter current pool

This amazing Villa with great views sleeps 10 persons comfortably with 5 bedrooms and 4 baths, several living rooms, dining room, terraces for outside eating, wonderful luminous big habitable kitchen and 18 m pool and garden, this Villa offers a perfect holiday in Italy or better to say in Tuscany. The Villa is cozy and welcoming, offers great views, space and comfortable holidays, staff can be organized if desired, like a cook and a cleaning lady.

This stunning home is nestled in an amphitheatre of gentle wooded hills surrounding a beautiful mediaeval castle town. Sitting on a hill top location it offers countryside and at the same time it is a step from two villages providing fresh local food and amenities, restaurants and services.

This 16th century farmhouse of 550 square meters has been recently restored. The former landlady was a swimming champion and therefore built in this pool with a counter current system for training purposes enjoying at the same time magnificent air and views.

The wonderful micro climate states to be one of the best in Italy as the Mediterranean sea is nearby, as well as thermal spas with natural healing water.

Pisa airport is less than half an hour with flights to most principle European cities and direct to New York. Within easy reach by car are San Gimignano, Volterra, Lucca, Florence, Livorno, Cinque Terre, Portofino, Montecatini Terme with Siena, Assisi and Arezzo not far beyond. Pisa and Lucca boast magnificent opera and ballet seasons as well as the Puccini festival close by. Each of the hill top villages stages local feasts and offer good restaurants.

The Villa itself, in perfect condition contains, a spacious living kitchen with open fireplace and utility annex leading straight out to a pergola (covered terrace). Paved with old stone slabs from a convent in Puglia. Five light, airy reception rooms all opening through French doors onto the south facing terrace complete the ground floor and offer a great summer sunny lifestyle with space and light. Upstairs there is a huge library, five bedrooms and three complete bathrooms with windows of which each prospects a wonderful view into the nature of Tuscan landscape.

Warm travertine stone on floors, staircase and bathrooms complement the original old brick, timber and stone features.

The property includes a service flat with large living room, bedroom, kitchen and bathroom which is reached by an outside staircase. The exquisite garden, lovingly tended by the resident gardener embracing a long lap pool (18 meters) with the above mentioned counter current system to do real swimming training rounds. The Villa is surrounded by terrace and gardens and another 5 hectares of meadows, including a pond and olive groves including a classical Mediterranean “macchia”, the mix of Thyme, Broom, Sage and many other dry garden Mediterranean plants, shrubs and trees which are now established. Included in the land there is a wood, a spring feeding 3 lakes and the irrigation system, a stone washing well, and an artesian well.

On site are two donkeys and a house keeper who takes care of the garden and the pool.

We can organize cooking lessons for you or tours through the archipelago of Tuscany.

About Claudia Pirazzi

When we had to move, we did not want to sell this Villa, which we love so much, so we decided to keep it and share this wonderful place with others and come back sometimes ourselves.

Claudia Pirazzi purchased this villa in 2012

Why Claudia Pirazzi chose Lari

It was the only historical Villa, which had so marvellous many and big windows, so close to the airport. The view, the 'home feel', because you feel so protected by nature and at the same moment you are exposed towards South and the Tuscan Sun.

What makes this villa unique

Three lakes, own wells, a counter current system pool, lots of space and well being corners in the whole house. There is a place for everybody and at the same time you can enjoy cosyness together either in front of a fire place in Winter or to see the sunset on the terrace with friends and-or family.

The Tuscan hills close to Pisa are a beautiful part of the pittoresque landscape with great views and breath taking seasonal changes over the year. Good restaurants are close by as well as markets and super markets.

The Pisa airport is only about half an hour which makes it an easy trip to arrive.

Close by are lovely little villages like Lari with it´s Castello dei Vicari and restaurants, Casciana Alta is very close by and the thermal baths of Casciana Terme with it´s healing warm spring water.

40 minutes from here you can visit Volterra with Etruscan origins and make wine tours around these Pisan hills, like in the Badia di Morrona.

There is also Lajatico with the theatre of silence where Andrea Boccelli sings as this was his birth place. If you are into music, the Puccini Festival is a must and only 45 minutes from this Villa.

Pisa is most famous for its Leaning Tower. Many visitors arrive into this university town and visit the Piazza dei Miracoli, or Square of Miracles, where the tower, the cathedral and baptistery form the city's main attraction.

Around the square's perimeter you'll also find the Camposanto, Opera del Duomo museum and Museum of the Sinopie which we also highly recommend visiting. A few blocks away, the Piazza dei Cavalieri once was the heart of power in the city and later the headquarters of the Knights of St. Stephen. Today, it is a center of culture and learning as the famous Scuola Normale di Pisa has its base in the Palazzo della Carovana that faces the piazza.

Florence, Italy: cradle of the Renaissance

Florence

Florence's museums, palaces, and churches house some of the greatest artistic treasures in the world. The most popular and important sites in Florence include the Cathedral, the Baptistery, the Uffizi, the Bargello, and the Accademia. The churches of Santa Maria Novella and Santa Croce are veritable art galleries, and the library of San Lorenzo is a magnificent exhibition of Michelangelo's architectural genius. Wander some of the oldest streets in the city until you reach the Arno River, cross the Ponte Vecchio, and experience the 'newest' area of Florence, the Oltrarno. Be sure to set aside time to see the vast and varied art collection housed in the Pitti Palace. When you grow weary of museums and monuments, head outdoors. Spend a day at the Boboli Gardens or climb the hill to the church of San Miniato al Monte to experience an enchanting view of Florence.

Siena, A Step back to Medieval Tuscany

Italy's loveliest medieval city, and a trip worth making even if you are in Tuscany for just a few days. Siena's heart is its central piazza known as Il Campo, known worldwide for the famous Palio run here, a horse race run around the piazza two times every summer. Movie audiences worldwide can see Siena and the Palio in the James Bond movie, Quantum of Solace.

The Charming Town of Lucca

Lucca is one of those Tuscan towns you should visit on your vacation in Italy. You might choose to stay there or nearby to use it as a base for exploring the region but, even if you don't, you can still visit it on a day trip. Lucca is famous for its Renaissance-era city walls that have remained intact while so many other Tuscan towns saw theirs destroyed in past centuries. Lucca is located on a plain at the foot of the Apuan Alps and is less than half an hour from the Tuscan coast. Since it isn't a hilltop village, it is ideal for anyone with mobility issues as well as for anyone wishing to take a break from climbing ;).

The Etruscan Coast in Tuscany with Bolgheri, Castagneto Carducci and Castiglioncello with lovely romantic coasts, wonderful fish and historic buildings offers a nice contrast to the hilly nature around you.

Close to the Teatro del Silenzio where Andrea Boccelli sings and was raised.
