Golfing / Biking:
Friendly and uncrowded public golfing is all around. Jay Peak has opened their championship course and it's outstanding! Newport Country Club (rated as best views overlooking the lake) is a very nice 18 hole course and a 10 minute drive. Orleans Country Club (18 hole) - 20 minutes. St Johnsbury Country Club (18 hole) - 45 minutes. Also many nice courses in Quebec within an hour drive. All at bargain prices! Shorter courses are also available.
Ride your bike just about anywhere, including our Incredibly scenic Lakeside Rail Trail all the way to Canada and beyond! Also the Kingdom Trails at Burke are rated one of the top mountain biking sites in the country.
Downhill And Cross Country Skiing:
Downhill - Fabulous Jay Peak is 25 minutes away ( BIG mountain with the highest snowfall in the East), Burke Mountain - another big mountain is 45 minutes away. For a French flair and a bargain price try Owl's Head with it's lakeside skiing and awesome views, or Sutton, Bromont or Orford.
Ski Touring - Our Scenic Lakeside Rail Trail, and the Ski Foundation Trails are close, free and can't be beat! Also Jay Peak has it's own Nordic Trail system as does Craftsbury Common Nordic Center with it's 85 kilometers of trails and all the amenities . (30 minutes). Lots of skiing in Canada as well.
Snowmobiling on the V.A.S.T., Ice fishing:
Step out our door and jump on your machine. We are on the V.A.S.T. system so you can leave from the condo and go anywhere in Vermont! Walk, ski or snowmobile onto the lake for some great ice fishing and scenery.
