Great mix of amenities. Will definitely come back!

My mother, sister, and I rented this charming home for a ladies' country getaway to celebrate my mother's 74th birthday in early October. This property had exactly the combination we were looking for, and we plan to come back again as soon as we can coordinate schedules. Early October was just the right time to catch the fall foliage at its peak at Lake Naomi. And every member of our posse found exactly what she was looking forward to most. Mom stayed mostly indoors, enjoying the lazy chair next to the fire and plenty of light from the surrounding windows and sun lights to work on her crafts. The single-floor aspect to the home also made it very easy for her to get around. My sister made great use of the fireside living room ambience for reading and even enjoyed staying in the Mickey Mouse bedroom. I love to cook and got to prepare a number of meals for the group. The kitchen was very well-stocked with cooking equipment as well as basic ingredients, and the house was incredibly clean. The 3 bedrooms were big and bright too. The outside patio and barbecue grill were in great condition as well, complete with a full extra propane tank.
My chocolate lab also got maximum enjoyment out of the weekend, because we were able to go hiking several times a day along the various forest trails and stream within a couple minutes' walk of the front door. And they aren't kidding when they say you can walk to Lake Naomi. It's literally across the cul-de-sac and down a very short path. The trip was actually short enough that my mom felt comfortable enough not taking the car and making the walk with her walker. Needless to say, my lab swam so much in the lake that he'd come back with only enough energy to get dried off, flop on the floor by the fire, and fall asleep.
Groceries were readily available at a nearby IGA store and there was even a nice copper artisan shop along the way with unique handiwork. I'd definitely recommend this property to anyone wanting to get away into the country. We took a slightly longer way back home via the scenic routes of the Delaware Water Gap, and found that to be worth the trip as well. Thanks so much for the great stay, Connie! And a HUGE thanks for being dog-friendly. Sometimes a great location and a dog-friendly property is a hard combo to swing, but we felt we were right in the midst of a beautiful setting. Your detailed directions, suggestions for area attractions, and foliage website links were greatly appreciated!
