There aren't enough adjectives to describe how great the Fish House is. It's perfectly clean, well maintained and the owner's are very friendly without being intrusive. The view from the picture window is gorgeous. I've been there over Memorial Day and also mid Oct. and either season is great. Great photo opportunities right from the front deck. No need for a car once you arrive. It's only a 10 min. walk to a grocery store, restaurants, post office or 10 min. in the other direction to Pier 66. I've never had better night's sleep than I did at the Fish House. The 3 bedroom windows offer views of twinkling lights at sea, sky or cottages at the end of the cove. How does lobster right off the boat sound? I actually pulled my own trap up out of the water that the lobsterman left for me. There's no swimming beach here but it's only a short drive to several. For alittle longer drive, there's Lake Sebago or L.L.Bean. There are also atleast 2 wildlife refuges. Don't worry if the weather is cool, the cabin is heated and stays toasty warm. Cape Porpoise is a great little seaside town without the wall to wall tourists. I just have one more comment on the Fish House- don't go and grab up all of the vacant dates.

Being that it was "off season", the weather didn't cooperate, but even rain in Maine is okay with me. The cottage had everything that I require...peace and quiet, comfortable chairs and good light for reading, a good shower and a comfortable bed. It was a very relaxing vacation week. I would go back and I'm actually planning on it.
