Nothing but Bliss in Getsemani!!!!

I will attempt to write an objective review and minimize any opinion. Purpose of Trip: 6 guys who have all known each other for about 20 years. We try to do a guy's trip annually. As part of the guys trip, we stayed in Cartagena for 4 days. Details: All of my initial contact went through Lucas, the house property manager. He is a very personable, hospitable gentleman who helped to make us feel at home from the very start. He also helped to organize a Catamaran cruise for us and ensured that everything went smoothly. He speaks perfect English, Spanish and Portuguese. Great communicater and helps to get any issues that may arise resolved. The house has 5 bedrooms, 3 of which have single beds and 2 of which have double beds. It has a pool in the middle of the home which separates the housing quarters from the entertaining quarters (a kitchen, dining area and a large sitting room with couches, pool table and TV). All of the rooms were of large size. There is a also a rooftop bar and hot tub. The house is staffed by four wonderful members [Nancy (cook), Mike (butler), Johana (housekeeper) and a nightkeeper]. They were all extremely attentive and hospitable. Nancy is a great cook- let her know what you want the first day and they take care of purchasing/cooking the food. Breakfast and lunch is included in the cost of the rental. Mike and Johanna are good about attending to your every need (from washing clothes to taking some of the guys out to the barbershop). This crew is truly the highlight of your Cartegena stay and will make it a memorable one. The neighborhood is an up and coming section of Cartagena, replete with refabricated constructions, nice restaurants/bars nearby. I did not find this area to be terribly dangerous but I also grew up in DC and tend to be very aware of my surroundings. Positives: Great home for families or close friends to enjoy Negative: The only issue i had was that the water was not hot enough when taking showers. I informed Lucas of this and they addressed this issue the same evening. No other issues with this home. Overall: A wonderul home in a great part of twown with excellent amenities. No one had anything bad to say about this property. If you have the cash to splurge, this is an excellent property to rent while in Cartagena. Viva "La Casa del Toro!"
