Prater Cottage - on 8th Street, East Beach, St. Simons Island, Georgia.
This is a wonderful five bedroom beach house on beautiful St. Simons Island! This house is perfect for your family vacation! It is located on East Beach and is just a short half-block walk to the beach!
Thank you so much for allowing us to rent your house for the week. We love St. Simons and your home was very comfortable and roomy. I will be leaving a 5 star review for sure!! We rode bikes to the pier and shopped and had dinner in the Village-absolutley wonderful time on your island. We have rented our vacation homes for eight years through VRBO and have not been disappointed yet! Thanks again Judy-you are a pleasure to deal with as well.
We love staying at the Prater cottage. Our family loves to fish, swim, relax while having a familiar, comfortable place to stay. We have tried other houses on East Beach, but the Prater cottage feels like home. We do try and book our week early to ensure the availability. The short path to the beach is like an adventure to the children. In places, the path is like an enchanted forrest. There is usually a tide pool near the end of the path, that provides a great safe place for the small children to play and swim. Every year it's a little different and we are always excited to see just how the shoreline has changed. I highly recommend the Prater cottage for families looking for a relaxed, homey experience.
Once a year, my in-laws host a wonderful gathering of their immediate family on St. Simons Island. We have been going there for the past seven years and have found the Prater Cottage to be a wonderful and relaxing place to stay. It is convenient to the beach and a short drive to town.
There are 7 adults and 4 children in our family and the Prater cottage is laid out perfectly to suit our families' needs. Everyone has their own personal space to escape into and large shared spaces for the family to gather together.
A note for other parents: The children's room is HUGE! It has plenty of room for my four children to sleep and play. In fact, when we are there we have to force them to come out to see us once in a while!!
I wouldn't want to stay anywhere else!
