Weirs Beach Vacation Rental cottage

I had rentented this along with a few friend and we all loved it. There is so much to do in the area we did not get the chance to stop all week. The view is terrific, the beach is a minute walk and its in a quite neighborhood. what more could you ask for? I cant wait to go back!

I stayed at this cottage with a friend this year. I will definitely try to rent it again. The cottage is within walking distance to all of the attractions at Weirs Beach. There is an arcade, restaurants, a scenic train, the beach, and a cruise all right there. A short drive in any direction will bring you to hiking/biking trails and much more. We didn't have time to do it all. It has beautiful views and is one of the cleanest well kept rental properties that I have stayed in. (I've rented a few.)

Home is very close walking distance to the Weir's Beach, boardwalk and waterpark.
We have 2 small kids and a dog. Home was clean and no problems with fleas (as previous reviewer indicated). Owner provided good communication and description on site is accurate.
Agree with previous review that noise level on Saturday and Friday night from Lobster Pound, about a block away, was loud. The kids were so tired from the beach though that they slept right through it.
Neighbors (met owners) on both sides were nice. Those living across the street - not so much. Be sure you walk to the end of the street and around the waterpark to get to the beach - otherwise these neighbors will be sure to tell you not to. Still an easy walk to the beach.
Clean bath and kitchen.
Would recommend to a family or group who wants to spend time at the beach.

I rented this house with my son (3) for a week. I was not familiar with this area but liked the idea of a sandy beach- difficult to find on the Lake. The cottage is up on the hill and offers beautiful views of the lake and neighboring mountains. The street is small and has very little traffic. There are neighbors with very "yippy" dogs but I'm not sure if they are residents or property managers because they were in and out frequently. There is also a large bar/restaurant very nearby that has bands and karaoke Thursday through Sunday nights. It was fine the first night but it got to be a little much once we settled into relaxation mode. Good for couples or g-friends though! The walk to the beach was short but difficult if you have too much to carry- there are quite a few stairs; however there is inexpensive parking on the main road. The activities for the children are great- my son was a huge fan of the arcades. The M/S Mount Washington offers activities for every age group and everything is reasonably priced. The cottage itself left a little to be desired- it's definitely not ideal for those seeking privacy- the neighbors are close and ordinary conversations can be overheard and within the house there is only one private bedroom. The master is really a loft and the wall does not go up to the ceiling to separate the children's room. Some of the amenities advertised were not actually there- I think this may have been an oversight on the owners part because she did not seem to be aware of the advertised versus the actual. For example- beach chairs, ironing board, lobster pot are advertised, and none were present. I was only interested in the chairs and when I called her about it she readily apologized and was there within the hour with two brand new chairs. The only significant issues for me personally were that the only bathroom was adjacent to the kitchen- not a problem for me and my son, but was bit uncomfortable for visiting friends. Also, the property is considered "pet friendly" which is great if you are brining a pet but if you're not- FLEAS!!! NOT FUN! I vacuumed like a madwoman and eventually covered the couch and chair with extra blankets (which I washed every night in scalding hot water! :) I would rent this property again, though- I would just pack with a little more forethought next time! Thankfully, or not- depending on how "get away from it all" you're looking- there is a large chain supermarket and a Wal-Mart nearby.
