This is a great rental house on the beach.

I'm not sure if "Chief Cook & Bottlewasher" has the right house. A friend and I stayed here in September 2008 and loved it. The comments about the "magnificent water view" and the house being "spacious and well-equipped" are correct. The negative comments, though, are just not accurate.
While there were only 2 of us there, the house can definitely accommodate 10. We had a hard time deciding which master suite to stay in. The top floor master suite offers incredible views of the bay, while the main floor master suite is a little more intimate. As for the lower level, which is actually at ground level, and has glass doors that open onto the back yard, it's huge! There's a very comfortable sofa (I think it's a sofabed) and large TV/DVD where we watched movies. The third bedroom (on the lower level) is pretty small, but has 2 twins and 2 trundles under them. I checked it out because I may return with my extended family. I figured we would roll the 2 trundle beds out of the lower level bedroom and into the large open area where the sofabed and TV are. I think the teen and younger kids would love it down there.
In the great room on the main floor, the sectional sofas are really comfortable. The dining room table is huge and just beautiful. (I think it's Stickley.) The kitchen is great (it even has a water view), and very well equipped. There's what looks to be a new refrigerator and dishwasher, and a trash compactor, which is older but worked just fine.
The beach in front of the house is terrific. We really enjoyed the sharks teeth hunting. (We found some sifters and wading boots in the garage, though you can find them just walking on the beach.) We later learned at the Calvert Marine Museum in Solomon's Island that the sharks teeth are about 10 million years old! While the beach is a little narrow, we enjoyed a nice long, peaceful walk one morning.
This is a great house, in a great spot. I will definitely be coming back, and will try and have an extended family gathering here too.
