The Blue Refuge is a cute, newer, 2 bedroom 1 bath home about 2 blocks to the beach in the Four Sisters Neighborhood. This home has been thoughtfully shared and is a great affordable choice for a small group. It has everything you would need for a fun and relaxing beach trip including WIFI and you can bring the dog too! This house is very near the Kiwanda Community Center making it a great place if you have an event planned there.

Layout:

Single level home. Garage, living room, kitchen, dining area, patio. Full hall bath. Bedroom with king bed and bedroom with queen.

Neighborhood:
The Four Sisters neighborhood of Pacific City is just a stones through away from the ocean on the west side of Cape Kiwanda Drive. This area is a small (about 25 homes), newer development of homes that are have consistent architecture and were designed for family vacations at the beach. Most homes feature upgraded amenities and a river-rock fireplace.

This home is pet friendly for one or two dogs. Please let us know if you will be bringing a pet so that we can add the non-refundable pet fee of $10/night (maximum charge of $40/pet). Only well-behaved dogs are allowed. Pets are not allowed on the furniture, or left in the house unattended.

Occupancy rules are strictly enforced and apply to the entire property during the stay. Additional day-use guests may be allowed with management pre-approval. After your booking is confirmed, you will be sent the full rental contract and terms.

The safety of our staff, guests and local community is our top priority. This home is professionally managed and cleaned to strict standards in line with CDC guidelines, including supervised housekeeping and post-clean sanitation.

Cancellation policy: 1/2 the total cost of the booking is subject to forfeiture if reservation is canceled or changed within 30 days of arrival. 100% of rental rate is charged if cancelled (or no-show) within 7 days of arrival. If the house is fully rebooked by another renter, cancellation charges (less $35) will be refunded. Reservation cancellation fee is $35. (If you book with a 3rd party, different charges may apply).

Was a decent stay

We chose this rental due needing a pet friendly rental. The area was quiet, but did back up to a community center, which was quiet, but odd to be renting right next too. The shower drain was clogged, so when showering you were always standing in water. The towels and plates/cutlery should be updated, as well as the couch and living room furnishings. Tile floors were nice. Quick walk to the beach, if you do plan to drive to the beach, you will need to pay for parking. Rental noted a barbecue, and when we went to use it, there was not propane. When we contacted rental agency via text, we did not get a response from them as to if they would take care of it or if we had to purchase our own. Okay place, most likely will rental elsewhere in future.

Nice house but had some recurring issues

My family of four stayed here in April and it was really nice to have a house within walking distance to Pelican Brewery and beach access. The house was clean and well-kept though we were glad to be here in the spring when the lack of AC wouldn’t be an issue. The home had plenty of extra bedding, including an air bed, and the beds were comfortable. Right away we noticed an issue with the toilet taking over 45 minutes to refill its tank after flushing. We notified the management as soon as possible but despite trying a few suggestions we could not fix the issue ourselves and resorted to refilling the tank with a large bowl when necessary. Our second day we spent on the beach and when we came back in the late evening we noticed that the hot water had run out after one shower. We had four people staying in the house and everyone needed to shower, so we waited for it to warm up again but it never did. We called management again to report this problem and request that it be fixed. Management offered to move us to another home that night and mentioned discounting our stay due to the issues. It was almost 9 pm so we opted not to move houses and management promised to schedule maintenance as soon as possible to have the issue fixed either that night or the next morning. I asked to be notified when they scheduled someone to fix it so we wouldn’t be surprised and I was told to expect a return call within a few minutes. At 9:00 the following morning I had not heard from management about anyone coming to fix the hot water so I called them again but didn’t get a set time since they were still working to arrange for maintenance. We decided to go to Tillamook for the morning and returned to the house after lunch. At that time the hot water was back and a few of us could finally shower, however after two showers the water was turning cold again. We thought we had just used the hot water and it would come back so we waited but it never did. The next morning we tested it again before checking out to see if we could shower but the hot water was still not working. At check-out I informed the management and they took all the information about our stay and said they would be in touch about what they can offer for compensation for the stay. I am waiting to be contacted by management and will update this review when that happens.

Great clean property with plenty of space

I enjoyed my stay with my dog. Property was in good location with a path to the beach through the adjacent properties. It included a monitor on an adjustable desk which made teleworking during my stay a breeze (thank you for that). Would stay here again.

Loved this little house!

Perfect size, clean and great location. Only one issue. TV is small and difficult to see the TV remote was reported as broken so had to find the power button on the TV and then use a Router remote. Also there was no notation about the sound hooked up through the stereo. We had to figure that out.

Great little getaway with the family

My family had a great stay at the four sisters property. It was a nice few days where we could decompress and be minutes from the beach. We really enjoyed our time at this property and was very well stocked. One downfall we did encounter was the inaccurate description from the VRBO listing that mentioned bunk beds which they did not have in the house. We really enjoyed every moment there and would definitely come back in the future.
