Comfortable but not up-to-date and not

The home was comfortable and as described, but really needs updating. The A/C consisted of 3 window units, one of which was inoperable. One of the bedrooms had no A/C, so very hot when you shut the door. We were there in September so the weather was mild, but we did have 2 days where the temps were in the 90s and we had to run the A/C constantly and the noise was somewhat annoying. Some of the electrical outlets were not operable (plugs fell out) and there was only one outlet in the large bedroom, so no reading lamp for me, and I read every night in bed. Fortunately I had a book light which helped. There was no internet access or available phone jack in the living room and the TV was quite small. I do not expect "spotless", but honestly the home was not clean - dusty shelves, ledges and laundry room. There was a rodent problem that the owners were not aware of (obvious evidence under kitchen sink) but they did take care of it quickly once notified.
The owners were available and very congenial to work with. The home was situated in a nice area with beach access to the bay and close to Cape Henlopen State Park, which is a spectacular park! Lewes is a wonderful historic town with some really nice shops and fabulous restaurants, like The Buttery.
I did not pay full price for this rental because it was "off season", but would have been quite unhappy had I paid full rental price. I definitely plan to visit the area again, but will choose a different rental.
Owner's Response: We do our best to provide a comfortable home and we try to address any issue brought to our attention. We took care of the mouse problem immediately and would have done the same for any others if we were made aware of them. The websie does say window aircondtioners and no internet access. We are currently working to fix the items mentioned in the review. We want our renters to have a wonderful vacation and we will do anything we can to assure that they do.
