The Sunday River Retreat was built in 1997 and overlooks 7 of Sunday River's 8 ski-able peaks. From the 8 person hot tub, watch the groomers get the slopes ready for another great day of riding. This enormous fully furnished 6 bedroom, 2 1/2 bath house is more than just a home away from home with 24 foot cathedral ceilings, hard wood floors, large dining room, a full kitchen, 8 person hot tub, satellite TV, pool table, foosball, ping-pong and much more. Located off the beaten path, it is still just a 5 minute drive to the Sunday River Ski Resort and 10 minutes from the historic Bethel village. On the main floor are 2 bedrooms, each with a queen-sized bed and dresser and one with a set of bunk beds, a half bath, a living room with 24 foot cathedral ceilings and hard wood flooring, an over-sized kitchen and dining room. The kitchen is fully equipped for many guests and includes a stove, microwave, dishwasher, coffee pot and many other cooking accessories.

The Sunday River/Bethel area offers many options for outdoor activities. Included are of course, some of the Northeast's best skiing, both downhill and cross-country, as well as ice-skating, snowshoeing, sledding and snowmobiling. During the summer months, kayaking, canoeing, hiking, and biking are available. Nearby is a miniature golf course, a huge water slide, shops in historic Bethel, and many restaurants and nights spots.

Perfect Ski Stay

This place was absolutely beautiful! Everything was exactly as advertised if not better. The house was located about 10 minutes away from the parking lot of the White Cap lodge and the view of the peaks from the back porch was amazing at night. Inside was warm and inviting and SPACIOUS. We hadn't even gone into the basement until the second day where we found the pool, foosball and ping pong tables! Relaxing in the 8-person hot tub after a long day of skiing was perfect. We had ten people in our party for the weekend and we all unanimously would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great ski weekend.

a great getaway spot!

A small group of us stayed at this property for 4 nights over the New Year holiday and couldn't be happier with our choice. Our group was going to have a good time wherever we went so to make this review useful I'll comment on three areas: 1) logistics/rental process, 2)ammenities/comforts, and 3)location. From the first inquiry about the property Alice was very timely and upfront about everything. All of my questions were answered quickly and thoroughly. As far as ammenities go we found the home to be very well stocked with everythign you would need. We did a lot of cooking and had all the utensils, pots/pans, etc that you would need to cook nice meals for 10 people. Pool table and ping pong kept us busy at night along with the hot tub. The house was clean and the gas fireplace kept it very warm. In terms of location you can't ask for much more. As advertised it is an easy 5-10 minute drive right to the base of sunday river. it's at the end of a quiet road and whomever they have plow was very prompt.

We would recommend this home to friends and will look to stay there on future trips to sunday river.

Fantastic Ski House!

I've been coming here for the past 4 years and I absolutely love it. It's got tons of room (I came with 12 of my friends last year) and is really close to the resort. What I love best about this place is that it really feels like a home; it's perfect for big dinners or just lounging around by the fire chilling out. And between the hot tub, the pool table, foosball table and ping pong table there's never a shortage of stuff to do. I'll definitely be going back this year.

Excellent getaway!

I have booked this lovely cottage at the end of February and enjoyed it with 12 other friends. The cottage was very clean, the kitchen had all utensils one needs for a relaxing week-end and the play room downstairs brought us a lot of fun when too tired to go out. My friends enjoyed the jacuzzi outside on the patio, although the temperatures were extremely low. Just five minutes away from the slopes, the cozy living-room and the warm beds were just what we needed when we returned from an adventure in Sunday River.

All in all, we have made an excellent choice when booking this cottage and we are planning on returning soon!
