**WE HAVE BOATS AND BIKES FOR OUR GUESTS TO USE (FREE) !! ** Sandy Garden cottage is a newly built, three bedroom, two bathroom, 1600 sq. ft. cottage on the Neuse River in New Bern. The cottage is set right in the middle of a lovely perennial garden. You can sit on the screened porch and watch the birds, pelicans, otters, geese, and ducks, or the waterman pulling up his catch. The great room is light and airy and feels very tranquil with it's shades of blue and white. Two of the three bedrooms face the river and so you can feel the river breezes while laying in bed watching the seagulls. New Bern is a beautiful, historic, small town. There are all of the historic sights, as well as, the natural beauty of the area. Sandy Garden brings the two together in harmony.

Newly Remodeled 'Bamboo Cottage' Available August 2006!! Located just minutes across the Neuse River from downtown historic New Bern. Charming 1940's cottage with 2 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, laundry room, screened porch, dining/living room, sun room, and large back deck overlooking the 'bamboo jungle garden' and the beautiful Neuse River. Original stained glass windows and wood floors add to the charm. Long or short term rentals. Inquire for details.

As for Sandy Garden Cottage, just across the river is the town itself with it's many interesting destinations including The Tryon Palace, museums, restaurants, theatre and shopping. As if there isn't enough to do in New Bern itself, the ocean and beaches are less than an hour away, and the quaint waterfront towns of Beaufort and Morehead City are even closer. The historic Ft. Macon is about an hour away. And The Croatan National Forest, just outside of New Bern, offers hiking and nature observing. So come see for yourself what Sandy Garden and New Bern have to offer!

It's official, Nick is a coast guard licensed captain! We are now offering hourly or daily captained charters on our 30' sailboat, 'Persistence', or our 24' skiff, 'Shallow Minded'. Just ask us for more details!!

Good morning Missy! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Sandy Garden Cottage. All of us were so excited to see such a clean, bright and airy place to stay and we already have started planning on coming back. In addition, we were blown away with the water view. We loved New Bern and had a great time walking around and enjoying the great food at the places your recommended. We will definitely be back. Take care and thank you so much for your hospitality.

Missy & Nick,

We so enjoyed our stay at your beautiful Sandy Garden cottage. It was wonderfully outfitted and well-stocked with everything my family needed for a perfect weekend in New Bern. I couldn't have asked for a better "base camp" for the MS150 bike event. The location is wonderfully isolated & serene yet just a couple of minutes from the charming little town. The short ride across the Trent River bridge was the perfect warmup for my 150 mile bike ride!

The sunset on Friday night was one of the most spectacular I've ever seen. I've got a ton of pictures of my kids in your little garden with the gorgeous purple, orange, and red skyline of New Bern across the Trent in the background.

After spending about 9 hours riding my bike all around the Pamlico Sound, drifting off to sleep to the soothing sounds of crickets and waves lapping against the beachwall was incredibly relaxing.

This was my first visit to New Bern and I'm sure it won't be my last. We'll definitely stay here again next time we're in town!

Nick and Missy,

We really enjoyed our weekend at Sandy Garden Cottage! You've done a great job developing a wonderful vacation cottage. The house is beautiful!

We really enjoyed the view (especially the view of the sunsets)and the chance to go fishing, canoeing, kayaking, and hunting for Shark's teeth in the river. We also enjoyed visiting downtown New Bern, especially Tryon Palace. We hope to visit Sandy Garden Cottage again sometime soon!
