Photos and Description of the Broadkill Beach vacation house rental
3 BR, 1 1/2 BA+OD Shower, Sleeps 6 (8 w/sleeper sofa), Porch on beach!

Beautiful home directly on the beach. Florida porch with wrap-around deck. Grill steaks while taking in beautiful view and ocean breezes. Broadkill Beach is a quiet old fishing village that is entirely residential (all single family homes). and one quaint country store. The town is NW of Rehoboth/Lewes, close enough to hop in the car to hit the outlets, restaurants or the boardwalk, but far enough that you enjoy peace and quiet. Broadkill's sandy beach is great for sandcastles, kayaking, beach combing and the huge wildlife refuge (Primehook) is another attraction. A few miles inland is historic Milton, home of a huge collection of Victorian-era architecture, bookshop, antique shops, ice cream parlor, as well as being the home of a couple of Delaware's 19th century governors - their large homes are still there. Enjoyable beach weekend

Submitted: April 3, 2013 Stayed: March 2013
We spent a very happy family weekend in late March in this lovely and well kept cottage on the Delaware shore. We loved waking up and enjoying the sea views, n and taking windy walks along the beach with our dog. Also enjoyed great Spring bird watching in Prime Hook. Would recommend this cottage highly and hope to return again.

COMPLETELY PERFECT!

5 of 5

Wow! After almost a decade of never going on vacation...My husband, myself & our 2 dogs spent a week down at Brad's Broadkill Beach housewent and had the most perfect time imaginable! It was the week before Memorial day and the beach was so secluded and pristine it was just unbelievable! The area is so very laid back for down the beach it's like how it used to be and fondly remember when I was a youngster, before all the commercialism took over. Well, Broadkill has been untouched by all of that thankfully!

The house is well-equipped with anything you could think of needing. I honestly can't think of one item I was in need of down there! The grocery store, bank, & liquor store are a short 6-7 miles down one road so it was nothing to jump in the car to get anything we wanted to eat or drink and Lewes is 7 miles in the opposite direction to go out for drinks or dinner. Although I think we were there 5 days before we decided to go out to dinner! We just had no problem staying at the house & cooking on the BBQ. My husband was very into the surf-fishing down there and caught a huge rockfish so that was really good on grill that nite!

I also have to extend my appreciation to Brad allowing us to include our 2 dogs. We do not have children, so these dogs ARE our children, and I honestly wouldn't even want to go on vaca without them. They had never been to the beach before and they just absolutely were beach dogs in no time at all! My youngest even figured out how to pick up a horseshoe crab and place it back in the water! HA! Really, a bunch had washed up with high tide & we were turning them back over and into the bay and once Blaze was sure they weren't gonna sting her or bite her she was right there doing her part! I'm very thankful we were allowed to bring them. They surely had their "own spots" on the wrap-around deck that caught some fabulous beach breezes!

I can't think of a better place to spend some time. I honestly cried like a little spoiled brat when we were packing up to leave because I just WANTED TO STAY and LIVE there! Brad & his wife have done a great job on this gem of a beach house.

Thank you so very much for a perfect stay. We most definately will be back!

Great Weekend Getaway

We just returned from a great weekend at Sea Loft. We were there with our grandson and two Boston Terriers. We had a great time on the beach. It is peaceful with plenty of room to roam. Davey and the dogs just ran and ran in the edge of the waves. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. We hope to return in the fall to celebrate birthdays.

For over 30 years, we've traveled the eastern and midwest parts of the country, hotels, motels and rentals, and this was by far our favorite. Waking up every morning to beautiful sunrises, sitting on the porch with a cup of coffee watching the water and the boats and fishermen, the unbelievable sunsets, the thousands of geese and ducks constantly migrating overhead, the quietness and solitude of the beach, the great beachcombing, the most brilliant night sky we have ever seen, millions of sparkling stars. Even the weather was spectacular, end of October, and temperatures in the 70's. The house was set-up perfectly, clean, cozy, kitchen stocked completely, pots, pans, dishes, even a lobster pot. We made day trips to Rehoboth, Lewes and explored the area's small towns. Our dog loved running on the beach and investigating all the shells and creatures on "his" beach and he loved greeting the occasional people and dogs we met too. Thanks, Brad, can't wait for spring so we can come back again.

Our October Get-Away

4 of 5
Submitted: November 2, 2009 Stayed: October 2009
My husband and I enjoyed our week's stay at SEALOFT. We found the house very clean and furnished adequately for our needs. The description and pictures of the house and rooms are accurate so that there were no surprises. Because we specifically went to the beach to surf fish,we found the best part of the rental was its location...walk right over the dunes to the beach which is very clean and nice. The week that we rented was on the cool side and we ended up having to leave a day early due to coastal flood warnings. However, while there we enjoyed the wonderful enclosed porch which looks right out over the bay. We got a chance to grill burgers on the deck on the grill which was supplied with charcoal. All the other nights we had good eats at local restaurants (ie.Miltonian Pizza Rest, Irish Eyes, Big Fish Grill and Villa Sorrento )
Broadkill Beach is a convenient location for various activities. We got a chance to bike in the town of Milton, hike at the Prime Hook Refuge and checked out the outlets in Rehobeth when it rained.
Brad was very responsive to my many email questions prior to our stay. While there I had to notify him that our "quiet Broadkill" vacation was being disturbed by new house construction men hammering roofing starting at 7 AM. Although this is out of his control, he said he made several calls about the incident.
The house is also equipped with wireless internet service which we found a big plus. Although there is not an organized binder of rental house information on the premises, there is a cork board which lists all the necessary instructions and emergency numbers. We did have to call the cable company once to restart the router.
All in all, we enjoyed our week there. Hopefully, we can return in warmer weather sometime and bring our grandchildren. However, if renting for families, you may want to remember to bring paper plates as there is no dishwasher. Also the queen bed is comfy but creaky. And don't forget the bug spray especially if going to Prime Hook. Oh, we loved the convenience of not having to carry house keys since there is a lock pad to secure the house.
