Beautifully remodeled 3 bedroom summer home on the waters edge of Cayuga Lake. All aspects of our home were renovated in 2009. New bedrooms, new kitchen, new bathroom, pine tonge and groove ceilings throughout, new flooring, new fireplace, new 10' x 23' deck overlooking the lake.
The beach is very family friendly. A gentle slope at the shore provides great swimming. Fishing off the dock is a must. Beach toys, 2 kayaks, tubes, life jackets and a paddleboat are all provided.
We are located in the HEART of the FINGER LAKES WINE TRAIL. Many wineries and bistro's are located only minutes away from our door.
Sleeps 8. Bedroom one has a Queen size bed. Bedroom 2 has 2 sets of bunk beds (sleeps 4) and bedroom 3 three has one Queen bed. Enjoy the view of the lake from our huge deck overlooking the beach area. Our cottage is situated right on the shore; you can swim or fish right off the 50 foot dock. We are located on a quiet, dead-end street which makes it great for families.
Cayuga Wine Trail: Cayuga Lake is surrounded by beautiful rolling hills, and the the Cayuga Wine Trail. Wineries within a 10 minute car ride include:
Buttonwood Grove www.buttonwoodgrove.com
Goose Watch www.goosewatch.com
Sweedish Hill www.sweedishhill.com
Thirsty Owl www.thirstyowl.com
There are many more wineries within a 15 minute drive along the Finger Lakes Wine trail.
Travel a few more miles and you can expand your wine tour to include the entire Finger Lakes Wine Trail. The Wine Trails of the Finger Lakes feature great wine testing, bistro's, restaurants and live entertainment.
Cayuga Lake- great swimming and fishing: We are located on the western shore of Cayuga Lake, the Queen of the Finger Lakes. Cayuga Lake is a quiet, 40-mile long lake with little boat traffic, but plenty of ducks, loons, and fish. Our shore is great for swimming. Walk into the water along the gentle sloap of the shore or just jump right in off our 54 foot dock.
Cayuga Lake is notable for clean clear water that can be enjoyed by recreational boaters (skiing, tubing...) and fisherman alike.
We provide kayaks and a paddle boat to get out on and fully enjoy the water of Cayuga Lake.
Nature walks: Ithaca is 'Georges'. There are many waterfalls and gorges to explore in the Cayuga Lake and Ithaca area.
We are located on the edge of the western shore of Cayuga lake, 20 miles south of historic Seneca Falls, and 25 miles north of 'gorgeous' Ithaca, NY, where there are spectacular hiking trails among the gorges. The cottage itself has very few steps the shore and is on a quiet dead end street. Launch your boat at Dean's Cove NYS boat launch which is located just one mile north of our cottage.
We are nestled in the heart of the Finger Lakes Wine Trail. Far removed from the bustling streets of the city, wine lovers will find many of the most treasured winery destinations only a few minutes drive from our location.
You can also enjoy hiking the many gorges of Ithaca. Our favorite is Taughannock Falls Gorge. The drop of the falls is an incredible 215 feet (66 meters) , and is one of the highest east of the Rocky Mountains.
Your local shopping experience may include a visit to the many Amish shops in the area or a trip to the local Senaca Outlet mall or Bass Pro Outlet
Other Activities: Amish Crafts, wine tours, wineries, hiking, shopping, farm tours, golf
Golf: There are many golf options around the Cayuga Lake area. Leading the way is Seneca Falls Country Club, 12 miles to the north on Route 89. SFCC is a semi private club that is open to the public weekdays and weekends.
Also to the south on the Cornell Campus is one to the first Robert Trent Jones courses in the world. Jones was a 1930 graduate of Cornell University and designed this on campus course. Truly a unique golfing opportunity.
