We wanted something different to celebrate our marital bliss so we decided to seek adventures in the Carolina mountains, This condo sits on top of sugar mountain, it's a million bucks view, the condo was so homey, we felt like its home for the next four days, the staff is so helpful, we hiked the linville falls, grandfather mountain and visited every vineyard around the areas, there are so much to do and we will be back, thank you Denise Moen for sharing your condo
We are a young family of 4 from the beaches of northwest Florida and we wanted to get away for some late season skiing. I searched for days on-line trying to find and affordable place to stay that wasn't to expensive and wasn't a hotel room. I found this condo and thought there must be a trick or some hoops to jump through. I e-mailed the owner and with-in an hour or so I had a response and the rate details and I mailed a check that afternoon. We arrived after a 9 1/2!!! hour car trip with my 6 year old girl and my 8 year old boy and were thrilled with the condo. The place was practically empty so we were able to park on the top tier of parking lot right next to the breezeway which made our unloading very simple. The front desk guard was a joy to deal with and we were handed the key and told to have a great stay. Now, we have stayed at some very upscale resorts and as advertised this is not exactly one of them. The building is dated but it adds to the charm of the mountain experience. The condo is older but was stocked very well with dishes, pots and pans, silverware, some paper towels and the like. I say this only because a lot of places say that they have a "fully stocked kitchen" only to mean that they have a kitchen with 3 or 4 plates and some silverware but very little to cook with. Not the case here, all that we needed to prepare meals was there except the gorceries. The new leather couch was wonderful and the view was spectacular. You look right out of your windows and view the top of Sugar Mountain. The bunk beds worked great for my children and the fireplace was a wonderful touch. A word of caution that I knew from other research but that you might want to know...there is no A/C only heat but we never needed it as it never got to 60 degrees on top of the mountain. The condo is a bit dated but we didn't mind because I didn't feel like I had to tell my children all day every day to be careful to not do this or that. It was perfectly fine with my wife and I. Also, I don't know if it was just because there were very few people there or not but the typical condo you can hear people above you or around you when they get up and walk around, etc. but I never heard anyone else and I didn't have anyone complain about my children who have a tendency to walk "heavy-footed". All in all it was a wonderful time and the condo just added to the fun. Thank you to Denise for a great place to stay that didn't break the bank and provided a relaxing environment.
With our youngest son coming home from Germany on leave from the Army, He asked if we could go to the mountains for a few days.
We were so pleased to find such a great mountain condo close to everything we all love about this area in the spring and after a long day of hiking, site seeing or shopping, it was good to be able to relax in the hot tub or sauna or just sit by the heated pool and if you didn't enough exercise, you can hit the exercise equipment. There is something for everyone.
The view was spectacular, the amenities too numerous to mention, the staff courteous and security was impressive. No matter if we came in late or went out early, there was always someone there to greet us and make us feel we were in good hands.
There is no doubt that we will be back!
Thanks again for being a pleasure to work with and making our mountain getaway a great one with wonderful memories!
Nice place to stay and excellent value! Great communication and response from owners. Thanks
I cannot even tell you how much fun we had staying at your place! What a cute place you have and it is so unbelievably convenient to everywhere. It took us no time getting to the slopes and we had so much fun skiing for two straight days. The weather was perfect and we met so many nice people. At night, we had a lot of fun after a full day of skiing sitting around the dining room table playing cards and dominos while enjoying a fire. Thank you for a great memory for me and my kids and we will be in touch soon about possibly visiting one more time this winter. It was Josh's (10) first time to ski and he literally beat us down the mountain EVERY time! He loved it! Thanks again for your kindness!
